Diocese of San Diego shelves plans for new Catholic high school, will use money instead toward sexual abuse settlement |
This is a matter of homosexual extortion; plain and simple. Why must all
these poor children now go without a decent education?

A more pressing matter"
Diocese of San Diego shelves plans for new Catholic high school, will use
money instead toward sexual abuse settlement
A 38-acre piece of land near Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside once set
aside as the site for a new Catholic high school in northern San Diego
County will be sold instead to help pay for the diocese's share of a $198
million settlement with victims of clergy sexual abuse reached in September.
The site had been earmarked for construction of Pax Christi High School, but
plans for the new school have been postponed indefinitely, diocesan
chancellor Rodrigo Valdivia told the North County Times. "It now looks like
it will take much longer than many may have originally hoped," Valdivia said
in an email response to inquiries by a reporter, according to the Dec. 18
Times story.
A diocesan committee decided in 2005 that the Mission San Luis Rey site was
too far west, and planned instead to swap the land for a more suitable
location, Valdivia told the Times. The land swap was part of a larger
diocesan-wide plan that called for the construction of three diocesan high
schools in San Diego County. Proceeds from the sale of two other school
sites, University of San Diego High and Marian High, which the diocese
closed, were to be divided among the three new schools.
The diocese has already sold the Marian and University high school sites,
and has opened two new schools, Cathedral Catholic High and Mater Dei High.
The two new schools are still slated to get their $25 million share of
proceeds from the land sales, but plans for the third school, Pax Christi,
remain uncertain. "Each of the three schools was to receive $25 million from
the sale of the properties to offset the entire cost of land purchase,
construction and furnishings," Valdivia told the newspaper. "Having to make
the settlement payments does not allow us to do that now."
Instead, the estimated $90 million the diocese will receive from the land
sales will be divided this way: $25 million each to the two recently opened
schools, $40 million toward the sexual abuse settlement, nothing for Pax
Christi high.
Valdivia told the Times that the diocese still wants to place a school some
day in northern San Diego County, but that "addressing the settlement
payments is, however, a more pressing matter."
The diocese is slated to make its first payout toward the settlements in
January 2008, and its second and final payment in September 2008. The
Diocese of San Diego's share of the $198 million settlement is about $153
million, covering 111 cases.

You argue that the priests and church should have fought the
accusations
in court and not settled, which puts you arguing in support
of child
molesting.
False conclusion, against the Constitution itself.
The U.S. Constitution is on the side of the abused children,
against JDW.
So what oddball illegal constitution is JDW going by?
I am concerned about the mental process that turns the victims of the
crime <children> into the perpetrators.
I worry with that sort of mental process, Johnny could end up blaming
the bank and not the robber.
• There has already been a case where the priest claimed he was seduced
by a boy he sodomized. [Fr. Paul Shanley, Boston]
The only question to be asked: who was the adult?
• apparently, priests who sodomize boys never grew up from a sexual
standpoint.
[Ref: UNHOLY ACTS by Paul Wilkes, p.61 The New Yorker Magazine, June
7, 1993]
Another interesting thing to read. I am going through my second read
of _Hooks_.
Very interesting.
• Especially the part about the Church teaching priest candidates that it
is less sinful to have sex with a boy than with a girl. Another
eyebrow-raiser is teaching that children simply outgrow sexual abuse - and
suffer no permanent damage.
The author should be very proud and happy.
• Paul Wilkes is Catholic. My take is that he wrote the article
dutifully - albeit painfully - because he feels the RCC is being rerailed
by members of the hierarchy who are sexually attracted to boy
posteriors.

Maybe the church should have done something about the molesters in their

Ridiculous.
It is the victims that people are trying to defend against the extortionist
sect that fails to prove its assertions beyond a reasonable doubt.
I see no EVIDENCE of the accusations in these sex abuse cases.
All of it looks like a fraudulent method to defraud the Church itself of
funds and property.

You mean the government's collusive efforts at not requiring the laws to be
used places full liability on a Church?
Those cover-ups were what made the church hierarchies as guilty

Is that why the government chose to forego the laws themselves in these
cases?
JDW seems to be on the side of the criminals and those who would conceal

*****.
The concealment in these Church leadership/CRIMINAL justice system
government collusion schemes isn't the fault of the Church itself.
The Church's code is what the Church is obligated to follow.
I assert that you can not even prove that the Church leadership followed
their own Church code and that the government practiced the law as they are
written.
The scapegoat operations to make the Church look like the guilty party is
criminal in itself.
Considering his own criminal record, that is hardly surprising.
What isn't surprising is that the concealment is on the part of the
government that DISCLAIMS its publications to the public and on the part of
leadership that conceals their involvements by falsely placing blame upon
the innocent.
The innocent aren't here to be the fall people for criminals any more.
The criminal allegiance is corrupt and kaput and exposed by the criminals
themselves because the criminals aren't smart enough to know when the keep
their mouths shut and because they can't go on forever without bragging to
someone how they got over on some innocents.

cases?
You would have to ask the Department of Justice about that. But don't
expect an answer. Dubya loves secrecy.
JDW seems to be on the side of the criminals and those who would conceal
those crimes.
*****.
The concealment in these Church leadership/CRIMINAL justice system
government collusion schemes isn't the fault of the Church itself.
If it was done by the officials of the church, which it was, how does
that differ from its being done by the church itself?
The scapegoat operations to make the Church look like the guilty party is
criminal in itself.
The guilty party WAS criminal in itself!

There you go, blame the victims. Anything but accept responsibility.
Ridiculous.
It is the victims that people are trying to defend against the
extortionist
sect that fails to prove its assertions beyond a reasonable doubt.
I see no EVIDENCE of the accusations in these sex abuse cases.
All of it looks like a fraudulent method to defraud the Church itself of
funds and property.
** Denial of reality, a serious human malady.
One reason the one true church agreed to pay >$2,000,000,000 to ex
altar-boys is because: if these cases had gone to trial, the scandalously
juicy testimony of the altar boys would have been quoted in newspapers.
Another reason was that some good people in the hierarchy realized that
such testimony would have added to the suffering of the buttrammed.
Not to mention what actual court presented proof would do to the
institution. It is possible some of the brainwashed might actually
realize what the real world is like.
What proof?
There must be some proof somewhere since so many are falling all over
themselves to settle out of court. This would not happen if they
could prove themselves innocent.
And, if there was actual proof rather than only a bunch of accusations, it
would benefit the Church to terminate such criminals who would be replaced
with qualified exemplary teachers.
Did you see any mention of any action to oust unqualified leadership/
Frankly I do not track the activities of cults. I simply ignore them
unless they annoy me.
The organization and the control it generates must be protected at all
costs.
Stealing from the Church in violation of the law and the Church's own code
isn't the method to do such.
Voluntary acts are not stealing.
It appears not going to court is worth whatever it costs.
