There was laughter in the Polish parliament last week when the ruling
Law and Justice party suggested that MPs should literally pray for
rain. But it was no joke, and more than 20 passed on the request to the
almighty in the parliamentary chapel. The sniggerers should have known
better: Poland is a Catholic country and only a few years ago the late
Pope John Paul II called on Catholics to "ask the Lord fervently to
grant the thirsty earth the coolness of rain".

You think *that's* something? Just the other day I 'prayed' that the beef
taco filling I had prepared some time back was still 'good'. (I'm low on
food and realized I had some of the stuff 'hidden' in the fridge.) When I
went to check; sure enough, there it was. I noticed some mold, but it didn't
seem *that* bad. I prepared the stuff as usual. And guess what? I *didn't*
get sick!
Now tell me that there is no God.

Maff, i am capable of reading the Guardian newspaper myself, without
you posting every opinion article they do on here, for those that don't
live in the UK, a lot of the Guardian is available online.
It is, arguably, the most objective newspaper in the world
