Donch' just love that Christian honesty, integrity and propriety? |
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1814723,00.html
From the article:
"Churches such as Kingsway promote wealth as a reward for hard work
and living a godly life. They use the opening text of the third letter
of John, in which the apostle prays for his friend’s prosperity and
health, and other texts espousing the abundance of harvest reaped from
the well-sown seed, to support this view.
A prosperous pastor is seen as proof that prosperity preaching — known
to its detractors as the “blab-it-and-grab-it gospel” — works. Vast
sums are generated by the congregations of these churches, where
“tithing”, or donation of 10 per cent of net income, is common. "

The future of civilisation rests upon how many people realise that and do something about it."

Ah, yes..the old ruse of "pro$perity go$pel".
This guy's a piker compared to the really big fish in that muddy pond. Hell,
Rev. Pat Robertson managed to pull off an all-timer, sending planeloads of
Bibles to Africa, and having those same planes return loaded with diamonds.
Ka-ching!
God© works in mysterious ways, indeed.
LC~ Thinks Christianity has been the biggest pyramid scam of all eternity.
"Of all the systems of religion that ever were invented, there is none
more derogatory to the Almighty, more unedifying to man, more repugnant
to reason, and more contradictory in itself, than this thing called
Christianity. Too absurd for belief, too impossible to convince, and too
inconsistent for practice, it renders the heart torpid, or produces only
atheists and fanatics. As an engine of power, it serves the purpose of
despotism; and as a means of wealth, the avarice of priests; but so far
as respects the good of man in general, it leads to nothing here or
hereafter."~ Thomas Paine

That may be why religion will never die. There is too much money in
it.
*****, if all I had to do was babble some religious nonsense once a
week and rake in the cash, I'd do it. I just can't keep a straight
face.
