Yes, addiction is usually a polar opposites proposition if one is
seeking recovery. I found great success by taking that first step in
the opposite direction that I had been headed in all those years that I
had been destroying myself. Whatever concepts I talk about here, none
of them are being forced on you. If the concept of polar opposites in
not useful for you, then just leave it alone.
For me polar opposites delineates the extreme boundaries and then I
start looking inside of those boundaries for answers if they are not at
the poles. Sometime extremes are not the answer and the answer is in
balance but other times it can only be found at the opposite pole. It
may seem very simple to you, but living healthy is not easy for
addicts, there 'normal way' is to live sick.

You know what I hate? People who try to justify abuse by pretending
people who stand up to it and point it out are just espousing an
argument against something we all disagree about.
We don't all disagree about it. Sane people all agree - abuse is wrong
and want you to stop.
That's a strawman. In other words a lie. You, V, are a liar.
