NEW YORK With many newspapers hesitant to use the "i" word in connection
with a president millions believe committed "high crimes and misdemeanors,"
it took "Doonesbury" to bring up the subject of impeachment.
In yesterday's comic, Garry Trudeau shows a professor asking students to
consider a "case of two presidents."
Says the prof: "The first president initiates a bloody, costly, unending
war on false premises ... and approves covert policies of illegal
detentions, kangaroo courts, extraordinary renditions, torture, and
warrantless wiretappings of thousands of Americans.
"The second president lies about hooking up with an intern. Question: Which
one should be impeached?"
To which a student replies: "The babe hound. Right?"
"Doonesbury" appears in about 1,400 newspapers via Universal Press
Syndicate.
---
The Bush Regime: "A bunch of mindless jerks who'll be
the first against the wall when the revolution comes."

I found that pretty damned funny, but not ha-ha funny.

Never slap a man in the face
when his cheeks are filled with ball bearings
Even at the Drones Club,
where the average of intellect is not high,
it was often said of Archibald that,
had his brain been constructed of silk,
he would have been hard put to it
to find sufficient material to make
a canary a pair of cami-knickers.

Here's to hoping that the Dems give it the ol' college try.

You mean, drinking lots of coffee and beer, rushing to get it done so
they can get back to their floozy girlfriends?
