Dreams? |
As a courtesy to my (Catholic) wife, I go to mass with her around
Christmas. It is astounding how BORING church is. It's beyond boring;
it is actually mind-numbing.
Anyway, they read the story of how Mary wound up pregnant with the
baby Jesus, while she was still a virgin. Now, we all know that under
Jewish law, she should be stoned to death, or something like that. But
the angel appeared to Joseph *in a dream*, to explain what was going on.
In a dream??? Are you kidding? The angel can't talk to him while he is
wide awake, using all his cognitive faculties?
Seems pretty fishy to me....

The reason it was a dream was because if the angel came during the day,
there would have been a great explosion!
