Unbelievable. Cheney needs a better staff:

CINCINNATI (AP) - Indicators measure the nation's unemployment
rate, consumer spending and other economic milestones, but
Vice President ***** Cheney (website - news - bio) says it
misses the hundreds of thousands who make money selling on
eBay. "That's a source that didn't even exist 10 years ago,"
Cheney told an audience in Ohio. "Four hundred thousand people
make some money trading on eBay."
Cheney needs a staff who will tell him that the $2.0 billion or so in
eBay's domestic revenues are already included in the Commerce
Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis's estimates of GDP.

Ebay is pin money compared to illegal drugs.
Estimated $63 billion for 1999.

While we're at it, let's include the millions who are not included
because they have allegedly given up looking for work. Or the people
who are considered "employed" because they are in debt up to their ears
going to college. Underemplyed people should only count for half an
employed person, since it take another underemployed or fully employed
person to support them.

As someone who is employed and has been for a year now....selling
everything I fucking own on Ebay is a way to supplement our famliy's
income. So I agree too.
