Earl is as wrong about the "formal government retirement" age as with most
other things.
Since that can be taken two ways I'd point out that my friends working for
the feds tend to retire in mid 50's and of course 20 years service is good
enough for the military, about which he knows nothing.
The real point is that people working as real engineers if they are capable
of managing their income should not have to wait for when the government
tells them to retire.
