Dunham's In Flint Robbed During Business Hours
(TV5) -- The robbery happened at the Dunham’s in Flint Township on
February 14th. What makes it so unusual, and so daring, was that the
robbers pulled the heist around 8pm, with the store full of customers
and they forced the manager of the store to turn over the surveillance
video.
Police say a robber entered the store around 8:00pm and had the manager
open the safe. The robber then took an undisclosed amount of money, the
store surveillance tape, and two assault rifles, a SKS and AR-15 style
weapon. He even loaded the SKS with a round of ammunition before
leaving.
This all happened while customers obliviously shopped. The situation was
unbelievable and scary and amazingly in what could have easily turned
into a hostage-type situation, no one was hurt.
Since the surveillance tape was taken, police admit it could have been
an inside job but say nothing so far is leading them in that direction.
They do say they think the suspect was in the store earlier in the day
scouting it out. For customers the crime is unsettling.
Police have no suspects or leads. They say a woman was also an
accomplice in the case. They say this case could go in so many different
directions. They're working with several area agencies to help solve it.
And they say they don't think the robber is responsible for any other
similar crimes in the area.
