A horde of Roman Temple was discovered by a metal detector enthusiast
in 2002 near Baldock (Herts, England) much of which identified a
previously unknown Romano-Celtic goddess Senuna.
So who says your not getting value for your research money!

Don't know. There's a lecture by the local archeological soc on the
9th about her and I think I'll pop along and see!

Less seriously, I did a quick search on the web and found a fair few
refs, but most of them where in foreign. The English ones were post
discovery. Mind you, I bet Walksalone would know.

Now if this location is near Bath or some other hotsprings, there is a
reasonable chance that she is a variant of Sulis, the chthonic goddess
associated with hot springs. But the name is known, it is in one of my
files from about 98, with no information on her. Now can I go back to
dozing in the son without you whippersnappers iinterupting? These bones

Unfortunately not. Bath is about 140 miles from Baldock. And in
England that's a long way...
