DALLAS — A former Grand Prairie pastor who was convicted Friday
morning of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a 12-year-old
girl was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Jerry N. Castle Jr. was arrested in March 2005 outside Faith
Tabernacle Church in Grand Prairie, where he had been pastor for more
than two years.
Jurors took less than 30 minutes to reach their verdict Friday
morning. Police began investigating Castle in 2005 after the girl told
her mother that she and the pastor had engaged in sexual activity
between March 14 and 18, 2005, according to Grand Prairie police.
The girl told police that the encounters happened at Castle’s home
while his wife was away.

accuse him, and play on the juries sympathy for the young to convict him. It
all sounds like a witch-hunt to me. Was it only her word for it? Or was
their actually some physical evidence for it?
