I know very few of us, if any, will be attending church services on this
particular day, but I was just wondering what my fellow godless heathens are
doing this particular day. The day before I'll be going to a SIL's house
for an Easter Egg hunt and to color eggs. On Easter, we'll just be having
my mom over for dinner. No big whoop. The witchling doesn't care for
candy, so she'll be getting a GameBoy game in her Easter basket instead.
So, what will ya'll be doing on Sunday? :)

Well, okay, I'll be paddling my kayak, reading James Clavell's "Shogun"
(imagine reading about christers being evicted or killed by a fed-up
military leader of Feudal Japan...now imagine reading about it on the
christers' big holy day!)...the usual.

Staying local--there's a bayou that feeds into Pensacola Bay. Six months
after Hurricane Ivan came through and flattened things, it's paddling
season again and I want to get a closer look at some of the places I used
to explore Before Ivan, and some "after" photos--though I'm kicking myself
for not having film for the immediate aftermath, like a 38' sailboat washed
up on the shoreline of the Bay, sails furled and the little wind vane and
anemometer still functioning. Not a hole in the hull that I could see. Then
there's all the refrigerators that were washed up along the shoreline along
with lawn furniture and pieces of houses from Pensacola Beach, miles away.
Amazing, the power of that storm.

Religion is but a desperate attempt to find an escape from the truly
dreadful situation in which we find ourselves. Here we are in this wholly
fantastic universe with scarcely a clue as to whether our existence has
any real significance. No wonder then that many people feel the need for

I know very few of us, if any, will be attending church services on this
particular day, but I was just wondering what my fellow godless heathens

are

doing this particular day. The day before I'll be going to a SIL's

house

for an Easter Egg hunt and to color eggs. On Easter, we'll just be

having

my mom over for dinner. No big whoop. The witchling doesn't care for
candy, so she'll be getting a GameBoy game in her Easter basket instead.

So, what will ya'll be doing on Sunday? :)

Same thing I do every Sunday....absolutely nothing! I can't even eat
chockie eggs anymore because of my diabetes...that was the only thing that
was ever different about Easter Sunday since I stopped believing in the

gift

rodent!

LOL - "gift rodent". I like it. I'll have to share that with the
witchling. That reminds me, I have to pick up some Peeps for microwave
experiments <cackle!> ;)

Here's a little recipe that probably contributed to my current situation,
but is too good to resist. Get one of those little solid chocolate eggs (or
even better, the ones with caramel in the middle), cut a hot
Roman-torture-and-execution-device bun in half and put it in the middle and
microwave for a few seconds until it melts. Be very careful, especially
with the little one...the choc will be MOLTEN hot....but sooooo nice!!!

I'll be resting after having created a clean house with a carpet
shampoo-er. I will look upon the floors, and it will be good.

I'll be eating hard-boiled eggs whose shells have been colored, eating
chocolate and candy, and watching the Parade on TV. :-)
As an atheist, I'm allowed to celebrate any holiday I want, any way I
want. I'm also thinking about going to see Constantine in the theaters.
;-)
And for dinner? Pizza! Yum!

Me too. I just discovered that php can be run from the command line,
and I'm happier than a gopher in soft dirt.
Now if I could only get my sendmail to work, I'd be a 100% happy

Same as any Sunday. Sleep late. Read the Sunday papers. Make a nice
brunch for myself. Maybe watch a 'talking head show if something
interesting is on. Since Sunday promises to be warm here, maybe I'll go
down to the beach and watch the surfers.
IOW, same old, same old.
If I meet any pagans, I'll wish them a happy Ostara's day. :-)

With all the rain we've been having, things are really green around
here for a change. We're driving to Figueroa Mountain to check out the
wildflowers, celebrate spring equinox and the rebirth of life.
Then we'll drive home and burn a cow in the back yard while enjoying
the gifts of agave and malted barley, respectively.
