I don't see anything about "illegal federal income taxes". Or is this

So we should all be good little slaves and pay the extortion money to the
ganster government!
Maybe you should put a "I love being a slave" bumper sticker on your car,
little shiteater.

I don't see anyone holding a gun to anyone's head forcing him to live
in the collectively acquired collectively defended territory of the
United States and pay taxes.
Anyone can "taxpatriate" himself to low tax Somalia anytime.
Why not call 1-800-FLY-4-LESS and book the next one way flight to
Mogadishu?

Actually, Somalia has an almost-functioning government. No, what
these guys want is Darfur!
No functional government, so no taxes!
No police and no court system, no oppression by "The Man"
No functioning economy, so no taxes!
Of course, the region is ravaged by civil war and roving death squads,
but hey.. no taxes!

Its a waste of time trying to explain to a slave that his chains aren't

This dog actually believes that there'd be no roads, medicine or research

Unable to actually find out if the statement is true Misery just spouts
garbage.
There have always been roads. They just were not very good until the federal
government funded and mandated them. But you'd have to read some history to
know that.
There has always been medicine but until the federal government set

Yeah, we would all be cold and wet if the federal government hadn't
funded the development of fire. And the wheel.... whew, thank goodness
the feds straightened us out before we adopted that square doohickey.
To think that without the help of the government of Spain, Columbus
would never have made it to these shores before the Vikings.... er, I
meant the American Indians.... oops. Well, at least the vast majority
of inventions and innovations that made this country great was funded
by.... well, private individuals. Ok, modern medicine is sure to show
the benefits of government research funding, like penicillin... oops,
he was Scottish; the use of insulin to treat diabetes... wait, that
was in Canada; pasteurization.... French. Ok, let's forget medicine.
How about rockets? Yep, kudos to those wonderful German scientists
that applied Nazi research to the US space program.... bad idea. So
how much money did the government provide to the Wright brothers
before 1903? None? Oh well.
Hey, how about that federally funded research project in the '70s that
investigated why chimps clench their teeth? Yep, you sure scored big
on that one!!!

None. How much has been invested by governments since?
Speaking of Rockets, NASA developed products for the space program that
would never have come about if left to private industry.
But again that is documented in books and you will have to read before
learning of them.
You might howeveer note the rather rapid advance of technology during
wartime, supported and paid for by governments.
Hey, how about that federally funded research project in the '70s that

It's called research and there is never any certainty that it will pay off.
There was an engineering student at MIT who developed a neat algebra.
It was useless so they sent him to the math deepartment...
Seems it only used ones and zeros...
Try books. I know of something that was abandoned by the government in 1939
even with sound theory and a non working model that looked almost exactly
like the working one that came less tha ten years later.
You could use that for your next rant, just as you use the item itself
everyday.

Maybe you're just talking about the interstate system. Because there
were many, many good roads build without the help of the federal
government. They were built by state and local governments,
communities, private businesses, private citizens, etc, etc.
There has always been medicine but until the federal government set
standards you had no idea of what a doctor knew or didn't know.
We still don't, and that's -with- government "standards".

Unfortunately, no, it wasn't. It takes some serious complaints for a
STATE government to pull a medical license. But until that happens,
there is no way to know how many times any specific doctor has
received complaints, been sued for malpractice, or even if he/she has
specialized training in a specialized field of practice (which often
isn't required). Federal law has prohibited any type of 'information
database' about medical practitioners. If you are looking for a good
doctor, the only sources of information you have available are rumors
and commercial advertising (which used to be illegal). That's the
federal government's version of 'medical standards'.
The term "practice" comes from the times they learned by doing. But
you'd have to read some history to know that.
You're making this stuff up as you go along, aren't you?
As I said, you'll have to read books.
Ok, let's start with the dictionary:
prac-tice [< Greek 'prassein', do] 1. to do or perform frequently;
make a habit of. 2. to do repeatedly so as to become proficient; as,
to 'practice' batting. 3. to work at, esp. as a profession; as, to
'practice' medicine......
[Webster's New World Dictionary, Compact Desk Ed.; 1963, The World
Publishing Company]
BTW, I earned my BAS several years ago and I'm finishing up my
Master's program this fall. So when you tell me that "you'll have to
read books", you're just preaching to the choir. Even so, I'll respond
with another cliche: "Practice what you preach."
As for research, well you'd have to read some history.
Yeah, we would all be cold and wet if the federal government hadn't
funded the development of fire. And the wheel....
How about rockets? Yep, kudos to those wonderful German scientists
that applied Nazi research to the US space program.... bad idea.
And that development was supported and paid for by the government of
Germany.
None. How much has been invested by governments since?
Speaking of Rockets, NASA developed products for the space program that
would never have come about if left to private industry.
Actually, almost all of that research is/was commercially funded. In
case you haven't been paying attention the past few decades, NASA has
become a commercial enterprise.
But again that is documented in books and you will have to read before
learning of them.
You might howeveer note the rather rapid advance of technology during
wartime, supported and paid for by governments.
Wartime breeds war technology. Battleships. Tanks. Nuclear, biological
and chemical weapons, all of which have proven so helpful in a
peacetime society. Why yes, the computer has advanced by leaps and
bounds as a direct result of the war against drugs.... er,
terrorism.... uh, the war against poverty? How about Grenada? Panama?
Lebanon? Oh yes, I forgot that the war in Iraq helped spur the
development of the Celeron processor....
Hey, how about that federally funded research project in the '70s that
investigated why chimps clench their teeth? Yep, you sure scored big
on that one!!!
It's called research and there is never any certainty that it will pay off.
LOL!
There was an engineering student at MIT who developed a neat algebra.
It was useless so they sent him to the math deepartment...
Seems it only used ones and zeros...
Oh come on, what do you take me for.... an idiot? You think some kid
at MIT came up with binary math? Yeah, and Al Gore invented the
Internet, huh?
Try books. I know of something that was abandoned by the government in 1939
even with sound theory and a non working model that looked almost exactly
like the working one that came less tha ten years later.
Did the prototype crash near Roswell?
You could use that for your next rant, just as you use the item itself
everyday.
Enlighten me, o' well-read one.

Actually, the Federal government supplies a lot of money to police
departments, schools and fir departments all over the country. The Federal
Department of Education is one of the biggest bureaucracies in Government.
You have obviously forgotten about Clinton's "spend big bucks" to hire

states as a result of 9/11.

Talk, talk, talk. It's easy to find places in the world where you have
essentially what you want.
Go live along the Baja coast for a while. You will probably not be bothered
by any of those things and you won't have to pay taxes.
I'd suggest you start at Rancho El Barril where I lived.
No taxes, dirt roads, no sewers, no electricity unless you bring your own,
no doctors, no nurses, no police. You may see the occasional game warden
(They carry cocked .45 on them) but they won't bother you much.
You can live off the sea unless the unregulated fishing has decimated the
area.
But you won't do that. You will sit safely here where you have an infra
structure provided by the government and cry about how independent you are
and how we who support you are sheep.
What have you done for those people lately?

For many K-12 districts, the cost of federal mandates tends to be
greater than the money provided to pay for the mandates. If the Feds
actually paid for what they wanted, most school districts would be much
happier since many of the mandates are very good ideas, just expensive
ones that they don't have the money for.

Most of the Dept of Education's money goes to college funding. Only 8.3%
of all K-12 funding is federal. Most school districts would be happy to
forego the federal funding if they didn't have the federal mandates.

The mandates exist whether the funds are there or not. They have little

Yes, schools are paid for by federal funds. Local taxes pay part, but
federal dollars go into schools too. In fact, if schools do not meet
various federal standards (such as NCLB and IDEA) they can lose
funding and resources from the feds or even wind up being taken over
by the feds in order to meet those federal standards.
Don't kid yourself; the fedgov has it's hands in most things that we
think of as "local".
Police and fire departments apply for and get grants from the feds to
make up "shortfalls" in local taxes.

First read what he said. " Unless tax dollars are put to good use". There
is no mention of federal funds.
However if you don't think the federal government funds a large part of
fire, police and schools, I'd suggest you call a school, call a police
department, or come to our fire district board meeting sometime.
My very small volunteer fire department absolutely recieves federal money as
do all other police and fire services in the country.
Since the need for NIMS, a formal structure around things we have been
talking about for years, has been put in place to support ICS, there is
considerably more federal money coming down.
9/11 finally made the government realize that police and fire departments do
not play well within the department and between them.

Umm, how muc of that is a company/business expense?

Don't care either.
In this country they get enormous rebates direct from government anyway,
then it is a business expense.
