Elements Of A Cult. |
7 ELEMENTS OF A CULTIC GROUP
1) A centralized form of leadership that rules with unquestioned
authority like the Governing Body of the Watchtower Society.
2) A body of convictions, beliefs, and practices set forth boldly as "the
truth" by all powerful leaders such as the Watchtower Society's Governing Body.
3) A compelling presentation of the group vision to prospects that is
inviting and challenging such as join us and get to enjoy eternal life in a paradise some day real soon.
4) A series of manipulative socializing sessions to instill psychological
dependence on the group suach as the Watchtower's 4 meetings a week - hours on Sunday.
5) A definable process of group dynamics used to unethically control and
manipulate members to the detriment of said members and their family.
6) A history of abuses of authority by group leaders freely using
deception
and fear tactics, followed by a reward if served and obeyed.
7) A history of psychological and spiritual abuses of group members that
destroy lives, like the teachings of the Watchtower Society.
Cults are organizations that freely use unethical and deceptive techniques
to recruit and control members like the Watchtower Bible & Track Society.
Cult groups do not depend solely upon theological and spiritual persuasion
to attract converts. Destructive cult groups also utilize sophisticated
techniques of actual and literal mind control to deliberately manipulate
prospects and new converts, often scare tactics followed by a reward for joining the group.
Cults can and do include groups and organizations that are not typically
viewed as cult groups, in the sense that religious overtones do not
necessarily have to be present among group members.

1) A centralized form of leadership that rules with unquestioned

Much like the central authority of the apostles or the central
authority of Moses or the central authority of any organization
that needs to maintain some measure of order so that it doesn't
become a chaotic, anarchic mess. BTW, JW's question the authority
all the time, and when they do they often draw the same conclusion.
It's legitimate and appreciated. And when they don't, they leave.
Free will.
2) A body of convictions, beliefs, and practices set forth boldly as "the
truth" by all powerful leaders such as the Watchtower Society's Governing Body.
Nobody has to accept their understanding of Bible. Nobody is forced to become
a JW or remain a JW. If one believes what is taught is scriptural and
appreciates the spiritual food, they sign up (get baptized).
3) A compelling presentation of the group vision to prospects that is
inviting and challenging such as join us and get to enjoy eternal life in a paradise some day real soon.
People have Bibles. They have brains. They can read. They can reason. They
can decide for themselves if they think such teachings are indeed based
on the Bible or not. If someone doesn't, he can go into Christendom
for his lantern oil.
4) A series of manipulative socializing sessions to instill psychological
dependence on the group suach as the Watchtower's 4 meetings a week - hours on Sunday.
Nobody manipulates anyone. People are encouraged this way or that way
by friends just like all humans interact with each other. Nobody's
arm gets twisted. Nobody is psyched out. The WTS trys to publish
information that's beneficial for the congregations. Most people
see the good sense in it.
5) A definable process of group dynamics used to unethically control and
manipulate members to the detriment of said members and their family.
Nothing unethical anywhere in this religion. Group dynamics is based on
love for the brotherhood. JW's have more friends, good times, and are
happier than any other religion I have seen. There are always exceptions
to the rule, but overall, these people are very happy in their worship.
6) A history of abuses of authority by group leaders freely using
deception
and fear tactics, followed by a reward if served and obeyed.
Baloney.
7) A history of psychological and spiritual abuses of group members that
destroy lives, like the teachings of the Watchtower Society.
Baloney.
Cults are organizations that freely use unethical and deceptive techniques
to recruit and control members like the Watchtower Bible & Track Society.
If so, JW's are not a cult. As a whole, JW's are the most loving and
compassionate people you could ever meet. I'm so glad this religion
is on the earth.
Snipped the rest of your worthless drivel.

Items 6 and 7 do apply to the JW's. I've seen first hand the fear that the
"elders" can cause in people when they don't obey.

## My family are made up mostly of Mormons, Lutherans and Catholics and the
above does not apply. No one was coerced to go door to door (not even the
Mormons), none lived in fear someone would "rat them out" for brownie
points, none lived in fear of being DFed or forced to shun anyone.... what
religions are YOU talking about.
So I prefer the definition that a cult is a religious group without a lot
of
money.
## The WTS is not in that category. They rake in a few bil a year. They
recently built a huge multi-million dollar opulent complex in NY called the
Patterson Complex. Remember that all their "lower" rank employees are
unpaid. They don't even provide them with the minimum wage or death
benefits. Thus they enjoy obscene profits other Publishing Businesses can
only dream of.
Items 6 and 7 do apply to the JW's. I've seen first hand the fear that the
"elders" can cause in people when they don't obey.
## Virtually *ALL* of them apply to the Watchtower Society/JWs.

The JWs call everyone liars when they expose the filthy slime covered
underbelly of their org. As for pedophilia, LyingLouie claimed he saw
nothing wrong with hiding the fact from the parents in the congs, that it
was the parent's job to protect the children - not the WTS's job! Louie
said even if the JW pervert threatened the child the child should still call
the police. It's the old WTS/GB "blame the victim game" we all learned so
well at mother WT's bloody knee. Keep in mind now that if two single adult
JWs have sex and get caught (a REAL CRIMINAL OFFENSE in their eyes) they are
DFed and would be stoned to death if that were still legal, as per the
bible. But a man can RAPE, SODOMIZE and terrorize an unwilling child,
destroy it's life, steal it's innocence.... and he remains in good standing.
The GB doesn't want it known these predators are roaming the KHs. The Org
comes before the lives and welfare of the children..... sickening!
Now unless the GB got some NEW LIGHT from the spirits they clam "direct"
them, you can be sure it's business as usual with the pedophiles and JW
children.

as one of Jehovah's Witnesses I dont think I have ever seen a more egregious
misrepresentation of the role of elders. They are slaves of the one true
Almighty God Jehovah, volunteering all their free time to help all the
people in their congregation. If I had not formerly been a catholic and
spent years studying many other religions I suppose I might have been so
naive as to believe you; since you stated it so 'matter-of-factly' as if you
actually know something. But the simple fact is that you are merely a
purveyor of mendacity.
First you say the elders are slaves, then you say they're volunteers.
Make up your mind!

Fact is .. it doesn't matter what we belong to or not belong to .. if we
are giving of our free time .. we are serving the almighty of which helps
those that fear/hat rather than love/go forward that there is hope for them
to consider giving from the heart a little instead of looking for an
exchnagemant in return ..

Slaves, in traditional sense of the word, are not volunteers and have
no choice in the matter of their servitude, (much like the kids that
I've seen dragged door to door) but if you want to flagellate yourself
over it, that's your business.
