ELLEN JOHNSON, President of American Atheists will be a guest this
Friday (October 7, 2005) on the popular "Richard French Live" program
carried on New York City metro cable television systems and the
Internet.
Johnson will be taking on Rev. Bill Banuchi of the state Christian
Coalition. The topic is whether taxpayers should reimburse religious
"charity" and other social outreach groups in the wake of disasters
like Hurricane Katrina. Legislation has been proposed in Congress that
would force all Americans -- including Atheists, Freethinkers, Secular
Humanists and other nonbelievers -- to pick up the tab for faith-based
rescue and relief operations that often blend religion and
