I think you owe me an apology.
Apology accepted.
Now it's your turn......
I'll post the entire article. It is much more than what you bargained
for with me.
Cites and sites galore. It's 169 kb.
It won't bother me....I have a 5 meg connection.
What are you using....? A 56k modem...? My DSL is 100 meg.....
Usaually starts a download at 700/800. But it never stays there.
<snip>
He means 5 megabit/second, compared to your DSL
which is 768 kilobit/second. Get the picture, Twonks?
His connection is _way_ faster.
So what you're telling me is that 100.0 Mbps is actually 1 Mbps. And the
real speed of the Woo's 5 is 500 Mbps....?
When I'm on a site that uses the speed of 500K. That doesn't mean the
modem isn't capable at what it is rated. Speedy can't go any faster than
what's allowed....
Because I'm limited by the destination I go to, my modem goes from a
"LINE100TX (v5) Fast Ethernet Adapter" Rated/capable, of 100.0 Mbps
to whatever site that allows it..
780 Kbps. Not quite 1Mbps. And the Woo man goes to 450,000 Kbps or
4.5 Mbps...? Does it slow down at all.....? Is it affected by the bandwidth
restrictions.....?
Bob- Recent update. My connection is now just under 10 meg.
I understand that this is the upper limit of my cable modem.
The next few years I expect 15-30 meg connections minimum.
Merry Christmas Bob !
