The Lawyer involved in this case, George Felos - the driving force behind the effort to
have Terri legally "put down" - recently wrote a book. There is a passage in this book
where he describes an incident that happened whilst he was travelling on a plane. As
he was musing about what it was like to die he claims that the plane's computer
malfunctioned and the plane went out of control for a short time. Felos writes that a
"voice" spoke to him, warning him to be careful and not to underestimate the power of
his mind.
There seems to be a power battle going on between Jeb Bush, the Governor of Florida,
and this character George Felos.

From a review of Felos' book:
'Felos later discusses the cosmic law of cause and effect in which he argues that
human beings create their own realities with their minds and have the power to change
their reality with their minds including causing a new, dream car to appear “out of the
ether” (178-179). He illustrates the truth of the spiritual principle by explaining how he
once caused a plane to suddenly descend, causing chaos for the crew and
passengers, when he pondered, I wonder what it would be like to die right now? The
pilot later explained that the auto pilot computer program mysteriously quit working,
resulting in the sudden descent. At that instant a clear, distinctly independent and
slightly stern voice said to me, ‘Be careful what you think. You are more powerful than
you realize.’ In quick succession I was startled, humbled and blessed by God’s
admonishment (181-182).'

Wow. In one step, Felos has proven a) the existence of God, b) the
existence of psychokinesis, c) the moral correctness of keeping a
brain-dead body alive indefinitely thru artificial life support, and d)
the legality of having a religious state governor appeal to his
legislature to write a law that usurps the authority of the courts in
order to perpetuate item "c" despite the court's ruling that the patient's
husband has the authority to terminate life support.
Not bad for a day's work, eh?

Save your breath. I've read it. And it's *****. This isn't
"Terri's Fight" -- yes, I know calling it that has emotional appeal that
is likely to spark irrational but supportive (of your cause) feelings in
the minds of a lot of people, but that doesn't make it so. This is the
fight of some of Terri's relatives who have a morbid attachment to a
dead body attached to a machine designed to sustain bodily functions
after death. They don't want those bodily functions to stop because
they imagine that Terri will somehow be more dead than she is if her
lifeless body isn't artificially pumping blood and digesting food.

I didn't read it, but I agree with your comment regarding how dead can
someone be. Like the joke "I don't want to die of anything serious".
My parents are religious (Baptist) yet have a die with dignity type of
thing in their will: no artificial maintenance of life. I don't know
the legal wording but it was regular medical care until my Mom died
(last July) and my Dad is going strong. Her death was sort of a
relief, as now the ordeal is over, the painful part was short and
everyone was left to their own thinking as to whether she's in heaven,
with god, just gone or whatever. We had quite a celebration two months
later - a celebration of her life and the person she was.
I think of euthanasia myself - I hope I die healthy, but in the
absence of that to be able to choose to die when I think I can't go
on. My relatives can think what they want to. You can choose your
friends but you can't choose your relatives.
When I can't contribute to society, why become a debt to it?
Yeah, that's strange but that's me. I'm allowed to think it, at least.

Sorry bubba, but the girl is fully alive. The only sustaining action is food.
To remove the tube is to starve her to death.
