Euthanising the common man |
Speculating on the future as I often do, I've come to the conclusion that sooner
or later, someone "in control" is going to take the reigns and do away with the
"common man". I see no way past it, it's just human nature that someone will
have enough power to do this some day, and will decide to have the world for
themselves and perhaps a few friends. In virtually ever generation throughout
history, there have been people who attempted to rule the world. In most ages
past, the technology it would have taken for just one individual to weild that
sort of power did not exist. Today, it does.
So in my opinion, we have to prepare to leave the world to "the elite", because
whether anyone wants to "let" it happen or not, I don't see how it can be
avoided.
Thoughts?

They've seized control in North Korea, Iran, and China to name a few places but
they haven't they done away with the common man in those countries have they?

I sometimes think there isn't enough time left for the world for that to
happen. Yellowstone supervolcano; asteroid; global warming; a pandemic
that will make the Black Death look like a mere cold; not to mention
the man-made biological weapons and the nuclear weapons which could wipe
the planet clean of virtually all life.

Speculating on the future as I often do, I've come to the
conclusion that sooner or later, someone "in control" is going to
take the reigns and do away with the "common man". I see no way
past it, it's just human nature that someone will have enough
power to do this some day, and will decide to have the world for
themselves and perhaps a few friends. In virtually ever
generation throughout history, there have been people who
attempted to rule the world. In most ages past, the technology
it would have taken for just one individual to weild that
sort of power did not exist. Today, it does.
So in my opinion, we have to prepare to leave the world to "the
elite", because whether anyone wants to "let" it happen or not, I
don't see how it can be avoided.
They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
One is a genius
The other's insane.
They're laboratory mice
Their genes have been spliced
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain.
Before each night is done
Their plan will be unfurled
By the dawning of the sun
They'll take over the world.
They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their mousey worth
They'll overthrow the Earth
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Narf!
"I think so, Brain. But what would I do with two tounges?"
"I think so Brain, but isn't that why they invented tube socks?"
Man, hard to believe it's been ten years. It's finally on DVD,
though.

And Animaniacs, too! Those two are among the only shows that are still
good after growing up.
You grew up earlier than I did. I'd say "Twilight Zone" aged as well as
anything. Well, there was the one episode of "Outer Limits." "It's a
cookbook!"

That's from "To Serve Man", a Twilight Zone episode.

I stand corrected.

Well, IMO-they were written for adults too. Just like those wonderful
old Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies in the 40s and 50s. I love
animation. I hate when people think it's just for kids. Cartoon
Network's breaking my heart right now-stuff like Dexter's Laboratory
and Courage the Cowardly Dog are gone, and the things they've replaced
them with are so unsophisticated that it would be useless to call them
"bad".

Thoughts?
Terribly unlikely. The elite has always known of the usefulness of the
common man. To do away with the common man is to reduce the elite to
actual labor, or at the very least, intelligent defense of his ideas,
as he would have no easily dredged pool from which to garner
unquestioning support.
