Everything You Wanted to Know About God, But Were Afraid to Ask |
A couple weeks back, Denny Gillespie posted his straw man claim that
atheists are afraid of the question about the meaning of life.

In response, here is a list of questions that theists are afraid to ask
about God. And yes, Denny, one of those questions is "What is the
meaning of life?"

He was lying, and he knew it. Because that has been one of his
falsehoods for years, and he has been corrected every time.
So he knows it's not true.
A lot of theists project their own metaphysical "needs" that are only
part of their religious beliefs onto everybody else.
Coincidentally these are questions which they hope we won't notice are
invalid in the real world, that can only be answered by his religion's
metaphysics.
In the real world, he has yet to demonstrate that there really is
"the question about the meaning of life".
It is invalid and unjustified, in spite of the linguistic sleight of
hand using "the" as though it were universally agreed that there is
one.
The intelligent ones know that this question is answered differently
by each religion and that both the question and answer only have any
meaning inside them.
