Evidence That Religion is a Mental Disorder? |
http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/06/01/global.mental.health.ap/index.html
reveals: "Mental illnesses including anxiety disorders and depression
are common and under-treated in many developed and developing
countries, with the highest rate found in the United States, according
to a study of 14 countries."
And the fundies are so fond of telling us what a religious country
this is, founded on christianity, they claim, with one of the highest
levels of believership in the world! Well, now we know why - the
mental disorder is belief in God!

Actually, the religious groups are more comfortable with their lives, and historically
have been less prone to mental problems.
Priests are one of the most relaxed people there is.

So are people who play Bingo regularly or participate regularly in a
social activity they like. Religion is not special in that regard.
Priests are one of the most relaxed people there is.
No comment - but it took an effort.

Of course that's because they are constantly drained by an endless
supply of choir boys.

Doesn't matter. The huge majority has nothing to so with altar choir boys, whatever that
is.
If they were into shenanigans, they wouldn't be so peaceful.

I did err, apologies.
If they were into shenanigans, they wouldn't be so peaceful.
Shenanigans are very exciting, which is why a person is so relaxed
outside that excitement.
The human brain can't function in a constant state of calm, people
really should stop pretending and step up to the light.

For some (like Duke I suspect) religion is just a handy hook to hang
their delusions on and a justification for their hate.
