Evil Bible Quote of the Day for Feb. 9 (Kill Men, Women, and Children) |
Evil Bible Quote of the Day for Feb. 9, 2004 from www.EvilBible.com:
Kill Men, Women, and Children (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)
"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the
city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no
pity! Kill them all - old and young, girls and women and little children.
But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the
Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!"
the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill!
Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told."
What kind of person would get their moral guidance from an ancient book of
myths and magic that says it is OK to murder, rape, pillage, and plunder?

you do afflict them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their

Actually that's Exodus 22:21-23 RSV. Did you happen to read the verse right
before that?
Exodus 22:20 "Whoever sacrifices to any god, save to the LORD only, shall be
utterly destroyed." Did you read the chapter before that (Exodus 21) which
explicitly allows slavery? Are these consistent with your quote?
The fact that you can post contradictions from the Bible doesn't mean that
the evil passages are not there or are taken out of context. All that means
is that the Bible is full of contradictions. The large amount of
contradictions in the Bible are not consistent with a divinely inspired work
from an all-knowing and all-powerful god. How do you explain the
contradictions?

Are you trying to show that the bible contradicts itself? Shame on
you.

These quotes are purported to represent the same god - how do you
reconcile the sentiments expressed?
