collection of books, psalms, scriptures and letters written by quite a

Erm basically you just prove his point that it's a book of myths. That

Religion is a matter of power, influence and control. Early writings reflect
and qualify the thinking of the people of the time.
This is a striking example of how the priests gained the confidence of the
masses, trying to prove that by following their creed they will be he winners
in any conflict.

Hence, he credits *all* wars to God. After all, they happen!
So God, who is in charge off *all* nations, must have included them
in his plan. Here, a prophet merely takes a message (cup) to the nations,
and they refuse to listen.
God, as presented here, has anthropomorphic features, but already stands
clear of our notions of "good" and "evil", as applied to the international
conflict. This is but one step towards a removed, transcendent God
of apocalyptic Judaism.
This concept of God may look srange to us today, but for ancient Jews it
was a step ahead, when compared to the Edemic God, or the God of Moses.

This passage claims to be the direct words of God as addressed to the
prophet Jeremiah. Are you agreeing with me that the Jeremiah, or the writer
of this book, lied about hearing these words from God?
