Genocide (Joshua 11:21-23 NLT)
"During this period, Joshua destroyed all the descendants of Anak, who
lived in the hill country of Hebron, Debir, Anab, and the entire hill
country of Judah and Israel. He killed them all and completely destroyed
their towns. Not one was left in all the land of Israel, though some still
remained in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod. So Joshua took control of the entire
land, just as the LORD had instructed Moses. He gave it to the people of
Israel as their special possession, dividing the land among the tribes. So
the land finally had rest from war."
What kind of person would get their moral guidance from an ancient book of
myths and magic that says it is OK to murder, rape, pillage, and plunder?

God took that land from Hitler!
This "god" also gave that land to Hitler. Here's a quote
from H.Goering; "God gave the savior to the German people.
We have faith, deep and unshakable faith, that Hitler was
sent by God to save Germany."

I must have missed that part in the history books. I thought the
combined allied forces took the land from Hitler...

Could very well be .. and perhaps God never 'gave' Hitler any land to begin
with. I was just offering the suggestion that could be so.
However, in the old books it is recorded that God in an OC relationship with
the Jews commanded them to shed the blood of those occupying their land .. I
offered the suggestions as counter to the notion that such a thing is
unusual. In modern times there has been taking from the Jews, yet it seems
that those who do so get punished. Superstition? Perhaps - but dead
nevertheless.
