Evil Bible Quote of the Day for June 12 (Infidels and Gays Should Die) |
Evil Bible Quote of the Day for June 12, 2004 from www.EvilBible.com:
Infidels and Gays Should Die (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)
"So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts
desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's
bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they
deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made
but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is
why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned
against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each
other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with
women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other
men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly
deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their
evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives
became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder,
fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers,
haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing
new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to
understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They
are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet
they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage
others to do them, too." (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)
What kind of person would get their moral guidance from an ancient book of
myths and magic that says it is OK to murder, rape, pillage, and plunder?

Are you using the NLT now? Anyhow, I don't see how this quote is 'evil' in
any way. St. Paul exhorting Christians to avoid all those nasty sins... Are
you objecting to the denouncement of some of the various sins described?
Explain, please.

Try reading the passages as they are written. This says that God has a
death penalty for infidels and homosexuals. This is a very consistent theme
throughout the Bible. Try reading it sometime without changing the parts
you don't like.
This passage also very hate filled because it implies that people who don't
believe in God are:
1) homosexuals
2) wicked
3) sinful
4) greedy
5) hateful
6) envious
7) murderers
8) fighters
9) deceptive
10) malicious
11) gossips
12) backstabbers
13) insolent
14) boastful
15) disobedient to their parents
16) refuse to understand
17) break promises
18) heartless
19) unforgiving
20) encourage others to do these things
21) believe lies
22) haters of God
That's 22 hateful lies in a couple of paragraphs. This is a quite a evil
passage. The fact that you don't understand what it says shows that you are
really one stupid idiot. Try using your brain sometime, or at least what's
left of it after it's been damaged by religion.

Death of the spirit, EvilEd. The spirit. Sin is injurous to the spirit.
Spirit. Spirit. Spirit. Get it?

It's not calling people who don't believe in God nasty names. These are
actual sins that some people commit, all, or in various combinations, wether
they believe or not. They are all things that Christians must avoid.
Nowadays many folks will dismiss most of the items on the list, and heap
abuse...

....on Christians who might bring it up. But St. Paul told it like it was,
and we believe it still *is*.

Yes it it. Read the passage again real slow and look up any words you don't
understand.

I had to post to thank you for this very beautiful complement to my
posts of today. I think perhaps we might even see the good spirit
working in you here. St. Paul so often had such a beautiful and
powerful way of putting things.
One thing we should remember is that when he talks about a "death
penalty" at the end, he is referring to the death of our spirit. We
are either alive in the spirit, or we are dead.
