Evil Bible Quote of the Day for Oct. 13 (Destroy People) |
Evil Bible Quote of the Day for Oct. 13, 2003 from www.EvilBible.com:
Destroy People (Psalms 106:34-35 NAB)
"They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them, but
mingled with the nations and imitated their ways."
What kind of person would get their moral guidance from an ancient book of
myths and magic that says it is OK to murder, rape, pillage, and plunder?

...What, observe only Psalms 106:34-35, when one could observe Psalms
106:34-39
What's your point? It says that Yahweh ordered the slaughter of the entire
population, out of fear that the Israelites would be led astray and start
worshipping idols; which they subsequently did. So were taking their word
for all this, are we? If that story is true, how can such a fickle witness
be trusted? They are led astray by dumb idols, when the living God is
talking to them on a daily basis. These are the witnesses you are trusting
your immortal soul with? Good luck.

So, in your hairy, testosterone-filled world, a man can not love another
man without being considered gay. Hoo boy.

A world in which one man can not say to another "I love you" without you

Where did I say that?
Erica: Christ still loves you....
David V: Why? Is he gay?
You also defended a "hairy, testosterone-filled world..."
You said:
"That's a far better world than your little fantasy world
filled with sky daddies and their ilk. At least my world is real"
And notice your words: "At least _my_ world is real."
What "world" could you possibly be referring to here except
the "hairy, testosterone-filled" one you were defending?
If your statement was supposed to be referring to an entirely
different world then you were using "world" to mean two different
things in the same context. This is called the fallacy of
"equivocation."
Your argument from hyperbole is making
you look silly.
Oh. And I suppose your response "Why? Is he gay?" to the
statement: "Christ still loves you," makes you look witty?
Regardless, she is making the obvious inference here. If it is
wrong the fault is yours not hers. Take some responsibility here.
The one inference she makes that you could have rightly criticized:
"Ooooh, wait a minute, I get it now. You're demonstrating the
merits of evolutionism by dragging your knuckles on the floor,"
you simply ignore.
But then that's what so called "christians"
like you do best.
Bigotry
prejudice
These words refer to an unfair irrational or unexamined
attitude toward issues or people based on blanket
preconceptions.
Bigotry now refers almost exclusively to an intense
dislike or even violent hatred for a particular group,
race, or religion. The comparable use of prejudice
would indicate a similar but far less intense
predisposition against such a group. Bigotry almost
surely would be evidenced in unashamed public utterance
or behavior.

It is ironic that you lie about this in the very

now would you?
You deleted it because you are too insecure to

You can't answer the question because I

Oh. By this "logic" then, if I CAN answer the
question, then you MUST HAVE said it. Well,
I did answer the question.
Ergo:
You must have said it. QED
Boy, that was easy. NEXT!
Erica did, not me.
Oh I see what you mean. You mean you did not say THE
EXACT WORDS "They must be gay". Godfrey Daniel David,
no one was accusing you of saying THOSE EXACT WORDS!
Do you regress to a mindless literalism here because
you think it gives you a port in a storm?
It doesn't, David. Your meaning was clear. Anyone who
wants to bother to look at the exchange, above top, can
see that was your EXACT meaning if not your EXACT words.
Can you muster sufficient maturity to admit that this is
exactly right?
I got 5 bucks says he can't. Any takers?

LOL! You are usually so bitter you don't even notice what
the other person is saying. Want an example? Here is one:
Alun Harford responds to your statement:
Actually, that gives us a better perspective. We are not tied
to a pre existing idea that the bible is the exact truth. It's
called an open mind.
Remember that when you open your mind you open it up for the Devil to
come inside. What you need to do when you read it is to blindly follow
everything that it says. Don't think. Accept that pi is 3 even thought
pi=3 tires don't get nearly the same gas mileage, because you don't
need facts when you have Jesus. -- Alun Harford
----
You don't read what he says. Instead you delete most of it
and kneejerk a reaction to what is left:
Remember that when you open your mind you open it up for the Devil to
come inside....
Except that there is no devil..... but then you'd have to
have an open mind to know that. --David V
----
In your haste to attack you failed to notice he was kidding you.
He can't seem to believe that you would miss this and so he tries
again:
Look, you're clearly too involved in your "logic" and "science". You
should remember that if it aint in the KJV1611 it aint worth knowing.
Why would God give us a book that contained everything we need to know
if He wanted us to go around questioning it all the time. In fact, you
probably think that pi is ~3.14 when the bible clearly says that pi is
3 (although I somehow never get the same gas mileage when I use my
pi=3 tires).
You're clearly an atheist, which is a bad move. You see, you deny God
and the Lord is very insecure. He treats people who deny Him like any
loving God would - he kills and tortures them. Praise the sweet name
of Jesus! -- Alun Harford
----
And do you get it NOW? Not a chance. Once again you fail
to comprehend he is putting you on:
If it isn't logical, or scientific, it's fantasy. Your god
is a fantasy. It's obvious you want help to rid yourself of
this fantasy, and we at alt.recovery.religion can help you.
I know you're in denial at the moment, but once you realize
that your religious buddies are no different than an
alcoholics drinking buddies, you'll finally get the nerve to
dump the god garbage and ask for help. We can help you, just
ask. --David V
------
And since you feel no obligation to argue for your claims
or back them up in anyway, you are prone to making silly
assertions like "If it isn't logical, or scientific, it's
fantasy."
Oh really? What is logical or scientific about, say
"love?" Or humor? Both seem to work just fine without
being either logical or scientific. Thus, they must
be fantasy--according to you.
When one knows they are never going to back up their claims
they become willing to say just about anything for no
other reason than they wish to believe it or it
serves their immediate purposes.
Your statement: "I know you're in denial at the moment"
demonstrates this very well. Clearly you knew no such
thing since you mistook him for a believer. But it
didn't stop you from saying it anyway, with a feigned
attitude of certainty about it, one that was totally
unmerited.
This wouldn't be so bad except you consistently expect
that your "word" be taken for your many claims--in lieu
of any evidence or argument for them.
Given the above, how do you justify that expectation?
Act like a fool and I'll play you
like one.
And how do you do that? By deleting any text of your
correspondent's that you are unable to deal with--as
you almost certainly will do with my post here?

proves your insanity. (see... I can make funny too)
And I replied to your postings because you're such an *****
most of the time, it makes me nuts. Surely you're not

you would face to face?
It's funny that you think I'm an *****. I was just mimicking
you. People are funny that way. When I come at them the way
they talk to others, they always get upset. If you don't
like being condescended to, then don't be condescending.
Address me with respect and intelligence, and you'll always
get the same in return. Act like a fool and I'll play you
like one.
Fool? Nah. Jester, maybe, but no fool. Ditz, often. But no fool.
If you match the tone, then when I apologized to you a couple of days
ago, why didn't you acknowledge it?
And when someone said that Jesus loved you, a rather nice sentiment that
you of course didn't believe, why did you say, "Why, is he gay?" if you
were matching their tone.
I admit that I tend to match others tones, even when I don't want to.
Even so, I've been typing and deleting alot these last few days, in an
effort to be at least vaguely civil, though I've slipped at times. Only
human, after all. Mostly, I've just tried to be honest about what I felt
and at least thought I saw.
I'm sorry, but a search of your posting history says that you are rarely
respectful, which belies your assertion that you match tones with those
you speak to.

I probably didn't read it. I just read down to the first

Fool? Nah. Jester, maybe, but no fool. Ditz, often. But

So far you've not shown me otherwise.
Please provide evidence for this claim of yours. You
do understand that the person making the claim is the
one who shoulders the burden of showing it to be true,
don't you? Here, let me back up this claim of mine so
you can see how it is done:
"Whoever puts forward an assertion, announces a position,
or takes a stand must be prepared to support it with
reasons and evidence. The person who fathers a claim is
the one responsible for its defense, and the 'burden of
proof' is his and his alone. --Munson, Ronald. The Way
of Words. 1st ed., Atlanta: Houghton Mifflin, 1976.
p 299-300
A very good book on reason and critical thinking.
You ought to look into it.
Now it is your turn. Provide examples of Erica "playing
the fool." Refusing to do so will be rather hypocritical
given that you expect that others prove things to you
on demand:
Whatever man you are, you're not impressing anybody with your attempts at
satire. Jesus is a fact.
And you have actual proof of this heretofore unknown fact?
--
-------
If you match the tone, then when I apologized to you a
couple of days ago, why didn't you acknowledge it?
I probably didn't read it. I just read down to the first
moronic statement and then delete the rest.
An example of the "open mind" you so often claim to possess?
More like 180 degrees out from that. And what you delete
is whatever is inconvenient for you to address, like when
you are proven wrong. Especially then. Want me to support this
claim? Dispute it and I will.
And when someone said that Jesus loved you, a rather nice
sentiment...
It is not a nice statement, and it is not intended as a nice
statement. It is pure condescension.
I'm sorry, but a search of your posting history says that
you are rarely respectful, which belies your assertion
that you match tones with those you speak to.
I notice that you were selectful in your searching.
Can you offer any counter examples to what she describes and
what I too have seen in virtually every post of yours?
I doubt you can.
Those
that were disrespected were only treated that way after
their idiocy or demeanor called for it.
Well, as we have seen in the example of your responses to
Alun Harford, your judgment about these things is just
a wee bit short of rock solid.
