Evil Bible Quote of the Day for Oct. 22, 2003 from www.EvilBible.com:
A Flat Earth (Matthew 4:8 NAB)
"Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain, and showed him all
the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence,"
What kind of person would get their moral guidance from an ancient book of
myths and magic that says it is OK to murder, rape, pillage, and plunder?

www.EvilBible.com:

A Flat Earth (Matthew 4:8 NAB)

"Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain, and

showed

him

all

the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence,"

You couldn't do that even on a flat earth.
It would only be possible
in a vision,which is what,I think,this refers to.

Since when is the devil able to put visions in Jesus' head? (Jesus is

the

"him" in the above verse.) If Satan is able to put thoughts in Jesus'

head

then how do you know that Satan did not completely control Jesus? How

do

you know that you aren't really following Satan?

Who made you an authority on the interpretation of the Christian bible?

One need not be an "authority" to call ***** "*****."

One does not need to be an authority to be delusional either, but what

does

that prove?

Do you always "answer" -- in quotes, cause you don't really give a
straight answer -- only half of what you're asked? This is the second time
you've avoided answering a question. I wonder why?

You also interpreted the Christian bible as a book that advocates murder. But
your interpretation is erroneous - and false.

surrounding verses.

You also interpreted the Christian bible as a book that advocates murder.

But

your interpretation is erroneous - and false.

The Bible commands murder for many reasons such as:
1) Working on the Sabbath (Exodus 31:12-15)
2) Fortune telling (Leviticus 20:27)
3) Fornication (Leviticus 21:9)
4) Being a nonbeliever (2 Chronicles 15:12-13)
5) Being a Son of a Sinner (Isaiah 14:21)

one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called
least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall

How

do

you know that you aren't really following Satan?

Who made you an authority on the interpretation of the Christian

bible?

The only "interpretation" that I did was to correctly state that

"him"

refers to Jesus in the above quote. It's all very clear from the
surrounding verses.

You also interpreted the Christian bible as a book that advocates

murder.

But

your interpretation is erroneous - and false.

The Bible commands murder for many reasons such as:
1) Working on the Sabbath (Exodus 31:12-15)
2) Fortune telling (Leviticus 20:27)
3) Fornication (Leviticus 21:9)
4) Being a nonbeliever (2 Chronicles 15:12-13)
5) Being a Son of a Sinner (Isaiah 14:21)

You have misinterpreted these scriptures in the context of Christianity

by

equating Christianity to the Judaic religion. But contrary to your
ignorance Christianity is not a religion.

Here is a definition of "Christianity" from The American Heritage
Dictionary 3rd Ed.:
1. The Christian **religion,**founded on the life and teachings of

Jesus.

Clearly Christianity is a religion. I guess this definition should show

who

is the ignorant one here!

So now you want to split hairs. Okay, from the same dictionary...

RELGION
3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a
spiritual leader

Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ
is a person - not a religion.

Jesus is a spiritual leader, and Christianity is a religion. I'm not going
to waste my time arguing over something so stupid.

Neither am I going to belabor the point. Because whether it is or isn't has no
bearing on your erroneous claim that Christianity advocates murder.

And since Jesus himself said many times that the Old Testament laws are
forever binding, these laws are also Christian laws.

Right, but the method of achieving compliance with the law according to

the

teachings of the Christian bible is the antithesis of the method of

achieving

compliance with the law according to the Judaic bible.

The Old Testament is still a part of the Christian Bible. And the usual
Christian way to comply with the Old Testament laws is to ignore them as
Paul says and not to uphold them as Jesus says.

What Paul says is in the context of the NT covenant which is a different
covenant from the OT covenant. And the NT covenant is also a different
dispensation from the dispensation of the OT covenant - and thus a totally
different methodology for complying with the Ten Commandments.

Evil Bible Quote of the Day for Oct. 22, 2003 from

www.EvilBible.com:

A Flat Earth (Matthew 4:8 NAB)

"Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain,

and

3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a

Rob, you're losing me too here. Christianity is a religion. If a
religion is based on the teachings of a spiritual leader, then Jesus is
that leader. We're not saying he's a religion, but the religion is based
on his teachings.

And since Jesus himself said many times that the Old Testament laws are
forever binding, these laws are also Christian laws.

Right, but the method of achieving compliance with the law according to the
teachings of the Christian bible is the antithesis of the method of achieving
compliance with the law according to the Judaic bible.

My little bitty interpretation is that none of the OT law can be
forgotten, because one has to realize that to follow it all is
impossible (even intent without action is taken into account).
Righteousness can not be achieved in that way. Hence, none of us are
righteous. Hence the need for Jesus. At least from the Christian
perspective anyway (waves at the atheists.)

"For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not
a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes
one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called
least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall
be called great in the kingdom of heaven"--Matthew 5:18-19 RSV

"And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than one tittle of the
law to fail." (Luke 16:17 Webster's Bible)

Are you also a self-appointed authority for
interpreting the scriptures of the Koran?

I am not any sort of authority and I have never claimed to be one.

Which is precisely why your interpretation of Christianity and the Christian
bible is erroneous - and false.

Rob

Rob, honey, that's redundant. False and erroneous are synonymous. Saying
something is false isn't going to make it any more erroneous. Just a
helpful hint from the English major.
