No explanation needed, stupid cases of wishful thinking
and/or a human brain producing what it's owner wants it to
produce.
Applies to all religionists as a normal course of events.
I went under gas at the dentist many years ago, I found
myself on the top of a huge pyramid made up of dead humans,
each human below me called me down as a new one arrived on
the top, they kept calling my name until I heard the dentist
calling my name trying to bring me round.
Please do not come here grasping at straws, it gets rather
boring after a while.
If you want to show you have a god ask it to appear.

Oh, please. Not again. Don't you knuckle-dragging theistic morons
*ever* do any research? I googled "near death experience" +neurobiology
and found the explanations on the first page.

Unfortunately, when you google "near death experience" without adding
"neurobiology" you get all this idotic Edgar Cayce style New Age
"..dere IZ uh aferlife!!!!" crap. I guess ***** like that is why people
like Paul are so confused.
exerpt:
The understanding of neural relationships during NDE's has culminated
in the ability to reproduce each phenomena in a controlled setting. It
has been found that the intravenous administration of 50-100 mg of
ketamine can safely reproduce all features of an NDE (2) and electrical
stimulation of the right angular gyrus portion of the brain can safely
reproduce an out of body experience (6). Scientific research has even
explained why religion is emphasized during an NDE. Activation in the
temporal lobe region, known as the "God Spot (7)" during an NDE is
reported to stimulate religious themed thoughts (8). This research has
major implications in the battle of science versus religion. It
provides evidence that specific brain activity can create the
perception of religion and divinity. If this is true than this brain
activity can be turned off and in effect remove religion from our
lives.

Well, I guess after a hit like that one ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good
luck with it.

It's a mess over here. And it will be for a very, very, very long time. I
haven't even tried to go into the city. People who work in the CBD have
told me it's not only a nightmare getting in and out these days but is
depressing as hell to see. And you can't get a damn thing done these days.
I tried mailing something to the lawyer's office in the CBD and it took a
*week* to arrive. I could have walked to the office and back and have time
left over (mail is generally weird around here, sporadic, unpredictable,
days go by with nothing showing up then there's a blizzard, I suspect
they're skipping delivery days).
While our parish didn't take much damage, the destruction of the city is
taking its toll. Sometimes in the weirdest ways. You know, I can't get a
pizza delivered? Funniest thing, there are help wanted signs all over the
place. Some stores still have limited hours. I would have thought with
about 12% unemployment in the state, it wouldn't be so hard to find people
who needed work. Unless they're all leaving. For sale signs are up all
over the neighborhood here. My street is all of two blocks long and there
are three houses for sale (soon to be four).
I just don't have the energy left to dig in and survive a rebuilding
that'll take years, if not decades (hell, there are whole neighborhoods in
the city with uncollected piles of trash and debris three months after the
storm, it'll be months before any real "reconstruction" even starts).
Especially not after the death of my roommate.
It's been too much. I want out.
(And the damn rain gutter is going to fall entirely off before the
insurance people show up. Three months and they still haven't gotten out
here. Lots of blue roofs all over the place.)

Learning About URIs
The Web is an information space. Human beings have a lot of mental
machinery for manipulating, imagining, and finding their way in spaces.
URIs are the points in that space.
Unlike web data formats, where HTML is an important one, but not the only
one, and web protocols, where HTTP has a similar status, there is only one
Web naming/addressing technology: URIs.
Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs, aka URLs) are short strings that
identify resources in the web: documents, images, downloadable files,
services, electronic mailboxes, and other resources. They make resources
available under a variety of naming schemes and access methods such as
HTTP, FTP, and Internet mail addressable in the same simple way. They
reduce the tedium of "log in to this server, then issue this magic command
...." down to a single click.
It is an extensible technology: there are a number of existing addressing
schemes, and more may be incorporated over time.

It seems most people on Alt.Atheism do think Near Death Experiences
occurs mostly when the supply of Oxigen to the brain is lacking.
As you seem to be sure that is not the case,
you should leave this and NG
and try one where people believe Near-Death experiences occur
where there is plenty of Oxigen.
As you must think they have a better insight in the matter,
you should turn to them for an explanation.
Think about it
