It's worked out well enough that my dream job would allow me to live down

Down here, it's a toss-up between the average mosquito and the roaches. (Of
course, the little town of Clute, in Brazoria County, has their annual

been flown away in the last fifteen years.)

Or in the city limits, for that matter...if you don't like blackbirds,
stay away from Sharpstown Center as dusk approaches. Only a few tens of
thousands head for the trees to settle in for the night.
Whatever you do, don't walk underneath the branches....
I didn't get this old by doing that.
"Look daddy, watch me catch snowflakes with my tongue."
In twelve years of public school, I occasionally didn't brown-bag it and ate
in the cafeteria...and long before I graduated, I'd learned that bit of
wisdom. ;-)
(Of course, the little town of Clute, in Brazoria County, has their
annual Mosquito Festival one weekend in July, and as far as is known,
no cattle have been flown away in the last fifteen years.)
[cackle]
Just you wait!
At least they'll need some time to warm up after this freeze all the
way down to the coast tonight...
"Shiver me timbers...."
So much for that...the freeze got to the north fence at IAH and went no
farther south. Sugar Land got down to 35, so our official first freeze
still hasn't quite gotten here yet, and won't for the next week or so.
So it remains bikini weather. ;)
...and eyes are likely being poked out on the Island, even as I type. ;-)
Times are hard.... ;)
...which makes it a good thing that the nearest strip club is at least 1½
miles away from where we live. ;-)
The "Stagger 'In".... :)))
Actually, there are three either on or near the Southwest Freeway within about
a half-mile of each other: Babe's, Michael's, and then the closest to us, the
Colorado, whose purple/red/orange 40' neon display can be spotted by LEO
satellites on a clear night...;-)

Yeah but can you get them to leave c:\belfry?
I'd just as soon they stay there, as that way they don't find my D: or E:
drives...;-)
Gee, no sense of adventure. Tsk. ;)
Take a walk on the wild side......
I don't have to take a walk. These days, southwest Houston *is* the wild
side...;-)
Oh cool! It came to you! ;)
