Hey faggots, I'm still confused. Help me out here. Didn't you faggots say
that the tide has changed and that EVERYONE is accepting faggots now, and
that only a few minor bigots won't accept? Didn't you say the majority of
people are accepting ***** behavior? I don't understand this article, I am
very confused. Why is it that faggots can only be accepted by imposing
their will on other people and seeking out sypathetic judges to change laws
for them? How come they can't take their case to the 'majority public' in
the voting booths? Surely if EVERYONE is accepting faggots now, they should
EASILY get these laws passed on the ballots!! Why is it that 38 states now
have a consititutional ban on ***** marriages if the majority of the voters
want otherwise? Help me out here...

Strong Support Is Found for Ban on Gay Marriage
The latest New York Times/CBS News poll has found widespread support for an
amendment to the United States Constitution to ban gay marriage. It also
found unease about homosexual relations in general, making the issue a
potentially divisive one for the Democrats and an opportunity for the
Republicans in the 2004 election.
Support for a constitutional amendment extends across a wide swath of the
public and includes a majority of people traditionally viewed as supportive
of gay rights, including Democrats, women and people who live on the East
Coast.
Attitudes on the subject seem to be inextricably linked to how people view
marriage itself. For a majority of Americans - 53 percent - marriage is
largely a religious matter. Seventy-one percent of those people oppose gay
marriage. Similarly, 33 percent of Americans say marriage is largely a legal
matter and a majority of those people - 55 percent - say they support gay
marriage.
The most positive feelings toward gay people were registered among
respondents under 30, and among those who knew gay people.
The nationwide poll found that 55 percent of Americans favored an amendment
to the constitution that would allow marriage only between a man and a
woman, while 40 percent opposed the idea.
The findings come after the highest court in Massachusetts ruled 4 to 3 last
month that same-sex marriage was permissible under the state's Constitution.
That ruling followed a 6-to-3 decision in late June by the United States
Supreme Court striking down antisodomy laws.
President Bush had been noncommittal about a constitutional amendment
immediately after the Massachusetts ruling, with the administration worried
that support for a ban on gay marriage would alienate moderate voters. But
last week Mr. Bush for the first time voiced his support, saying, "I will
support a constitutional amendment which would honor marriage between a man
and a woman, codify that."
The statement signals the White House's increasing confidence that it can
exploit the matter in the presidential campaign, both to energize its
evangelical supporters and to discredit the eventual Democratic nominee.
Most of the Democratic candidates oppose gay marriage but favor civil
unions. Howard Dean, who is leading in the polls for the Democratic
nomination, signed a law when he was governor of Vermont allowing civil
unions, an action that Republicans have already used to portray him as too
liberal for mainstream America.
The court rulings generated extensive publicity and concern, not only about
same-sex marriage but also about having the courts set social agendas that
have not been approved by the legislative process.
"We have found that the more people focus on it, the less they support it,"
said the Rev. Lou Sheldon, chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition,
which strongly opposes gay marriage and is working actively for a
constitutional ban.
The Times/CBS News poll was conducted from Dec. 10 through Dec. 13 in
telephone interviews with 1,057 people. It carries a margin of sampling
error of plus or minus three percentage points. Responses about gay rights
tend to be influenced somewhat by the wording of the questions.
This poll and other surveys show that as the courts have extended legal
rights to gays this year, Americans have become increasingly uncomfortable
with same-sex relations.
For decades, a majority of Americans have not approved of homosexual
relations. That had begun to change, until the Supreme Court ruling in June
and the Massachusetts ruling in November. A New York Times/CBS News poll
conducted in July found that 54 percent of respondents said homosexual
relations should be legal. Only 41 percent of the respondents in the latest
poll said they should be legal.
Richard Waters, 71, a retired elementary school teacher in Little Valley,
N.Y., and a Republican, said in a follow-up interview to the poll that he
strongly supported a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

Some years ago, a great American, Abraham Lincoln signed
the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon
light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames
of
withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of
captivity.
But years later, we must face the tragic fact that not only the
Negro is still not free. Years later, the life of the white man is still
sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of
discrimination. The White Man on a lonely island of fear in the midst of a
vast ocean of "Political correctness". White Christian Male is still
languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in
his own land.
So we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition. In a sense
we
have come to Usenet to cash a check. When the architects of our
republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration
of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American
was to fall heir.
This note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable
rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is obvious today
that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens
without color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation,
America has given the white man a bad check which has come back marked
"insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is
bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the
great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this
check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the
security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind
America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the
luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now
is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of political
correctness to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to open
the doors of opportunity to all of God's children. Now is the time to lift
our nation from the quicksands of "Political Correctness" to the solid rock
of brotherhood.
It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and
to
underestimate the determination of the White Christian Male. This sweltering
summer of the White Christian Male's legitimate discontent will not pass
until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Two thousand
and four is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the White
Christian Male needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a
rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be
neither rest nor tranquility in America until the White Christain Male is
granted his citizenship rights.
The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our
nation
until the bright day of justice emerges. But there is something that I must
say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the
palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not
be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for
freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and
discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into
physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of
meeting physical force with prayer force.
The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the White Christian male
community must not lead us to distrust of all "Politically correct" people,
for many of our elected brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today,
have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and
their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.
We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall
march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the
devotees of Christian rights, "When will you be satisfied?" we can never be
satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot
express the truth without being called racist. We cannot be satisfied as
long as
the White Christian Male's right of free speech is met at every turn by
screams of "you're a racist". We can never be satisfied as long as a White
Christian Male is refused jobs time and time again so that companies can
hire less qualified people of color in order to satisfy the demands of a
government who believes that the only way to repay the injustices of
yesteryear is to mandate injustices in the present day. No, no, we are not
satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters
and righteousness like a mighty stream.
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and
tribulations. Some of you have been denied jobs which were given to less
qualified people. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for
freedom of speech left you battered by the storms of persecution and
staggered by the winds of police and "politically correct" brutality. You
have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the
faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.
Go back to your company's personnel department, go back to Washington, go
back to your towns, go back to your wives and families, go back to the media
outlets, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us
not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in
spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a
dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true
meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men
are created equal; not that people of color are more equal than White
Christian Males." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia
the sons of "Political Correct" and the sons of white men who speak the
truth about racial issues will be able to sit down together at a table of
brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Washington DC, a
desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be
transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my
four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be
judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I
have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day the state of Washington, whose legislation is
presently dripping with slurs of racism for those white men who tell the
truth, will be transformed into a nation where people can speak the truth,
in gentleness, and not be called "racists". People will walk together as
sisters and brothers. People will see others as people, not quotas, agendas,
or "affirmative action" or "minority hiring status".
I have a dream that one day men of color will face the consequences of their
own actions without accusing white police and judical people of being
racist. I have a dream that one day a white person can walk through any
street in any city, and meet only polite people who are friendly and
helpful. I have a dream that one day the police departments in colored
sections of cities will be reduced to school crossing guards and giving
lollipops to well behaved children because no longer will the men living in
ghettos buy or sell drugs. No longer will teens spray paint buildings, or
wear gold. A pager will be a symbol of a working man, who answers service
calls, not a symbol of a drug dealer. No longer will white people need to
worry about being mugged by teens in the ghettos, because those teens will
be at home with their mothers, reading school books and furthering their
education. I have a dream that no longer will the white man be accosted by
people saying "gimmie dollah massah" because all people regardless of the
color of their skin will work at gainful employment to feed themselves and
their families. I have a dream that no longer will the man of color accept
the chains and dog leash of "The Man" by accepting the degrading welfare
checks. Have we not had enough of people living on the Southern plantations?
No longer will men need to beg "Massah" for an increase in food stamps and
WIC. Men will live lives of honor, keeping their bodies and minds clean and
strong and healthy, and working their days in gainful and honorable
employment, as so many generations before have done.
I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be
exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be
made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of
the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. We shall
see the day when people are people, regardless of the color of their skin,
or the nation of their ancestors. This is our hope. This is the faith with
which I return to Washington. With this faith we will be able to hew out of
the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to
transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of
brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray
together, to struggle together, to fight crime together, to stand up for
freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a
new meaning, "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I
sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every
mountainside, let freedom ring." And if America is to be a great nation,
this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of
New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let
freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania! Let freedom
ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado! Let freedom ring from the
curvaceous peaks of California! But not only that; let freedom ring from
Washington DC! Let freedom ring from California! Let freedom ring from every
hill and every molehill of Masssachusets. From every mountainside, let
freedom ring. When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every
village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able

I don't think it's right there on the surface all the time.
Like I was having a conversation with a friend, a while back,
he was telling me about all his lovers, of the past twenty years or so,
and wondered why he couldn't seem to find someone compatible,
instead of losers all the time.
My friends father had a problem with horses, lost a sizable
fortune.
My friend was not a gambler. But, one of his lovers had a
problem with shooting crap, dice games, one had a problem
with cards, another had a problem with slot machines,
and so on....Why, he asked do I seem attracted to these guys?
None of these guys looked or acted like each other, in all the
general ways, nor did they seem to act like his father.
But they all had these compulsive behaviors, which in time
broke up the relationship.

withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of
captivity.
But years later, we must face the tragic fact that not only the
Negro is still not free. Years later, the life of the white man is still
sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of
discrimination. The White Man on a lonely island of fear in the midst of a
vast ocean of "Political correctness". White Christian Male is still
languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in
his own land.
So we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition. In a sense
we
have come to Usenet to cash a check. When the architects of our
republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration
of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American
was to fall heir.
This note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable
rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is obvious today
that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens
without color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation,
America has given the white man a bad check which has come back marked
"insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is
bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the
great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this
check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the
security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind
America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the
luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now
is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of political
correctness to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to open
the doors of opportunity to all of God's children. Now is the time to lift
our nation from the quicksands of "Political Correctness" to the solid rock
of brotherhood.
It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and
to
underestimate the determination of the White Christian Male. This sweltering
summer of the White Christian Male's legitimate discontent will not pass
until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Two thousand
and four is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the White
Christian Male needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a
rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be
neither rest nor tranquility in America until the White Christain Male is
granted his citizenship rights.
The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our
nation
until the bright day of justice emerges. But there is something that I must
say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the
palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not
be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for
freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and
discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into
physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of
meeting physical force with prayer force.
The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the White Christian male
community must not lead us to distrust of all "Politically correct" people,
for many of our elected brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today,
have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and
their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.
We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall
march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the
devotees of Christian rights, "When will you be satisfied?" we can never be
satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot
express the truth without being called racist. We cannot be satisfied as
long as
the White Christian Male's right of free speech is met at every turn by
screams of "you're a racist". We can never be satisfied as long as a White
Christian Male is refused jobs time and time again so that companies can
hire less qualified people of color in order to satisfy the demands of a
government who believes that the only way to repay the injustices of
yesteryear is to mandate injustices in the present day. No, no, we are not
satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters
and righteousness like a mighty stream.
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and
tribulations. Some of you have been denied jobs which were given to less
qualified people. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for
freedom of speech left you battered by the storms of persecution and
staggered by the winds of police and "politically correct" brutality. You
have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the
faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.
Go back to your company's personnel department, go back to Washington, go
back to your towns, go back to your wives and families, go back to the media
outlets, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us
not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in
spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a
dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true
meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men
are created equal; not that people of color are more equal than White
Christian Males." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia
the sons of "Political Correct" and the sons of white men who speak the
truth about racial issues will be able to sit down together at a table of
brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Washington DC, a
desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be
transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my
four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be
judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I

I have a dream that one day the state of Washington, whose legislation is
presently dripping with slurs of racism for those white men who tell the
truth, will be transformed into a nation where people can speak the truth,
in gentleness, and not be called "racists". People will walk together as
sisters and brothers. People will see others as people, not quotas, agendas,
or "affirmative action" or "minority hiring status".
I have a dream that one day men of color will face the consequences of their
own actions without accusing white police and judical people of being
racist. I have a dream that one day a white person can walk through any
street in any city, and meet only polite people who are friendly and
helpful. I have a dream that one day the police departments in colored
sections of cities will be reduced to school crossing guards and giving
lollipops to well behaved children because no longer will the men living in
ghettos buy or sell drugs. No longer will teens spray paint buildings, or
wear gold. A pager will be a symbol of a working man, who answers service
calls, not a symbol of a drug dealer. No longer will white people need to
worry about being mugged by teens in the ghettos, because those teens will
be at home with their mothers, reading school books and furthering their
education. I have a dream that no longer will the white man be accosted by
people saying "gimmie dollah massah" because all people regardless of the
color of their skin will work at gainful employment to feed themselves and
their families. I have a dream that no longer will the man of color accept
the chains and dog leash of "The Man" by accepting the degrading welfare
checks. Have we not had enough of people living on the Southern plantations?
No longer will men need to beg "Massah" for an increase in food stamps and
WIC. Men will live lives of honor, keeping their bodies and minds clean and
strong and healthy, and working their days in gainful and honorable
employment, as so many generations before have done.

I had another thought, why does a female tend to marry their
idea of what their father was like, and the male tend to marry
his idea of his mother.
