When we broke through into the "Gush" (the main settlement bloc in the
Gaza Strip), the scenery changed instantaneously. In the blink of an
eye the eucalyptus trees changed into palms, with a scattering of grey
houses with exposed bricks and scaffolding extending from the roofs;
here, faith immediately registered its presence.
