The Shrubministration pushes teens to make
"virginity pledges". So, how does it work out to try
to smother normal teen sexuality to satisfy the
control-freakin' fundamentalist urge to deny all fun
to human beings and to wrest sexual control of human
bodies from those inhabiting those bodies?
Male and female pledgers are six times more
likely to have oral sex than non-pledgers.
Among virgins -- those who have not had vaginal
intercourse -- male pledgers are four times more
likely to have anal sex
"Pledgers have fewer sex partners than
non-pledgers, they start having sex later, and
they marry earlier, so they should have lower
STD rates, but they don't."
The pledgers, not diagnosed or treated, may pack
disease longer than other people...
The good news is, I suppose, that since most signers
of virginity pledges are from fundie families,
fundies are taking themselves out of the gene pool
at an astonishing rate.

In other news, the rate of abortions among teens
already dead of STDs has fallen to an all time low.
Don't you love it when a good plan comes together
like this?
xanthian, snickering in "I long ago told you so"
mode.
