Falwell and His Army |
Don't think for a nanosecond that the religious right has been 'damaged' by
the death of Rev. Falwell. He raised an 'army' well indoctrinated as what to
do insofar as turning this country into a theocracy is concerned. The
'machine' remains intact even though its 'head' has been 'disabled'. A Jerry
Falwell 'clone' will take over soon enough and things will rapidly return to
'normal' for the religious right. They goal of 'theocracizing' America is
coming ever closer to being realized. After all, who or what is going to
stop these rabid, religiously diseased, fanatics? Your local congressman?
Your state governor? Hah!!
We atheists can't do a damn thing about these zealots. As I've stated
before, they've successfully infiltrated every important nook and cranny of
the American 'system'. In due time, they'll run things in this country --
legally!! Look how many future 'leaders' the religious right has managed to
'brainwash'. Where are all these 'Praise Precious Jesus' future leaders
going to go? To a religious 'de-programmer'? I hardly think so.
At some point the Jesus people are going to *demand* to have their way and
resort to violence if need be. It seems to be only a matter of time.
The reluctance of many a PBS station to air 'A Short History of Disbelief'
is just one of many signs one can detect that the religious right has a
tenacious grip on our society. And they don't plan to let go anytime soon.
Do I feel 'glad' that Falwell is dead? Not really. He's already done enough
damage. His 'goals' will continue to be met as faithfully to his 'vision' as
possible by younger, possibly more 'aggressive' successors. Time will tell.
In life, I despised the guy. But he's dead and there's no point in reveling
over that fact. There are those who viewed him as a 'noble-minded' if not
totally misguided individual. No point in infuriating acquaintances who
recognized his failings by being unduly 'mean-spirited'. Hell, wasn't he who
said he'd prefer an atheist to who knew what he was doing when it came to
operating on him as opposed to a Christian less skilled; or something to
that effect?
I feel no joy in hearing the news of his passing. But I feel no sadness
either. He did what he did. We free-thinkers now have to learn to deal with
it in a positive way. We have to win the struggle against the religious
right or our beloved country will slip into a religiously-induced 'coma' for
many a year to come. We must not allow for that to happen. *I'm* done for.
I'm dog-meat. I am in no position to do anything anymore other than to post
to the 'choir'. Hardly a war-winning' solution to a very grim problem, is
it?
It's time for you all to gear-up and prepare for Falwell's 'successor' and
the legions of Jesus 'soldiers' committed to doing anything and *everything*
for the 'Greater Glory of God' -- including the use of truckloads of deceit,
dishonesty, and practically any morally reprehensible act you can think of
to accomplish the 'job'. If it is being done in the name of 'God', it's
perfectly 'okay', don't you know. It's not a 'sin' if you 'sin' by going
against the precepts and directives laid down by 'God' himself in his bible
if the 'sinning' is in the cause of establishing 'His' rule over America
through the use of his own personal human interpreters and spokespersons
here on earth!
You see 'God' can't 'talk'. He needs humans to 'read' his Aramaic, Hebrew,
and Koine Greek thoughts and then translate them into English in order that
mankind can be sure what 'God' is telling his earthly 'mouthpieces' is as
accurate as possible. And as we all know, religious spokespeople for 'God'
are utterly incapable of making mistakes or using their 'position' to
benefit themselves in some unseemly fashion. That is completely out of the
question. That's why there's no need for 'God' to materialize in front of us
in some undeniable way. His human mouthpieces are *that* trustworthy to
reveal his demands with the utmost of precision.
And *stop*! Why we aren't endowed with the ability to read the mind of 'God'
without the need for 'translators' is a 'mystery' only 'God' needs to know
the answer to.
Uhhhhhhh! Do you believe we live on a planet where so many people are so
patently 'cuckoo'?!

After re-reading the above piece of dog doo-doo I just cringed. What a
pompous, egotistical,sanctimonious, ultra-paranoid doh-doh head I can be.
I'm embarrassed to no end.
My mind is just reeling out here. My mind is scrambled and it's hard to
shake things off to the degree where I am satisfied with what I post at
times. It's just awful. There's no escape from my 'condition'. None.
I'll trying to keep a better 'handle' on things and hope I don't continue to
come off looking like an utter fool or a 'head-case'. But as you can see. I
am having problems doing so. You have to try and imagine what it is like
being given the pariah/leper treatment by your community. After a while, it
does something to your 'head'. And there's no end to it in sight. None at
all. This is out-and-out psychological torture being applied to me. The
object of my 'opposition' is clearly to make things as close to unbearable
as possible while still maintaining the *slimmest* veil of 'compassion' and
decency one can cover my plight with -- perhaps to the point of me taking my
own life. There are some truly awful people out here; people who truly
amoral. And you can't shoot em'!
I just wish there was some way this horror show out here could somehow end
on a positive note. But truth be told, I just don't see that happening.
Ugghhhh! Can I 'burn' the 'original' post and flush the ashes down my
non-operational toilet bowl?
