Maybe somebody's already posted this, but I think it's a fitting

A direct personal connection, of course, gives one a different
perspective. (That said, and I understand your distress, your
grandmother probably gave him the money. Under false pretenses,
perhaps, but voluntarily.)

Indeed. Were you on alt.atheism back in '95 when Madalyn Murry O'Hair
was found to be dead? Oh, the fundies capered like *mad* by the
flickering firelight for the better part of a year in glee over her
death. And they'er supposed (by themselves) to be *better* than we
are.
Chris Lee is a more noble spirit than I am; I am *glad* Falwell's
dead. Now if Jebus would just swoop down and take Pat Robertson too,
things might have a snowball's chance of improving here in 'Merica.

I can't say that this barrier to civilization being gone doesn't

Indeed. Were you on alt.atheism back in '95 when Madalyn Murry

O'Hair

was found to be dead? Oh, the fundies capered like *mad* by the
flickering firelight for the better part of a year in glee over her
death. And they'er supposed (by themselves) to be *better* than we
are.

Yup. The earliest post of mine that I can find for alt.atheism is in
'94...but I think I was here in '93.

Chris Lee is a more noble spirit than I am; I am *glad* Falwell's
dead. Now if Jebus would just swoop down and take Pat Robertson too,
