Well, there you have it. This is the limit of rationality for Moore
sycophants. Faced with criticisms of their hero, they retort with
two-liners instead of engaging material that threatens their pristine
image of Moore.
Of course, Shannon is known for hypocritical rhetoric. As the
proponent of this group’s creation at alt.config, he said the new
group was needed because “the controversial nature of much of his work
may provoke heated discussion,” because there was “so much discussion
of Michael Moore’s work scattered in various other places, and it
seemed very surprising to discover that no one had yet created a
dedicated newsgroup as a central locus for such discussion.” Shannon
claimed that “Michael Moore’s views should be discussed among people
who agree and differ with him.”
But now that the group exists, he’s running around relegating his own
retorts to what he calls “The vile spewers of mindless blather
thread,” which he advises so brilliantly:
Do you agree that democracy is good and depends on serious discussion
of the issues? If so, don’t reply to off topic, ad hominem garbage.
Send it to “The vile spewers of mindless blather thread”.
LMAO
The guy who speaks of the importance of “serious discussion of the
issues” snips and fails to address anything substantively, but
believes he is “sending” threads to “The vile spewers of mindless
blather thread.”
