Finally saw "Jesus Camp." |
I've seen "Pink Flamingoes" and "Jackass, Part 2." Sick and depraved,
both of them--but in those two movies it was adults--consenting adults--
doing sick and/or stupid ***** to shock or get a laugh.
In "Jesus Camp" it was fucking KIDS. Not "fucking kids" as in kid-
fucking, unless we're speaking simply of their minds being fucked, their
childhood being taken away. It was kids parroting what the adults around
them taught them to say. Kids speaking of being soldiers for christ,
speaking of dying for god's will.
We're talking a very overweight woman--becky fischer, the leader of this
camp and ministry--talking to kids about sacrifice, talking to kids about
the importance of FASTING. She looks like she's making a pretty good
living off the money she gets selling her message, DVD's, seminars, and
the camp.
These people--the adults, the kids, all of them--sound like all the dukes
and wentzkys and truechristains and georganns and namelesses all rolled
up into a vile package. We see posts from these blank-eyed weirdoes in
this group almost daily. Really sobering to think of how many of those

with offending the religious right than seeing such abuse come to an abrupt
halt. Scum bags.
These poor innocents are being taught out-and-out hate and intolerance.
They're being led to believe that it's noble to die trying to kill the
unbeliever. WTF!!
One must not take the position that 'Jesus Camp' is an isolated instance.
There are countless of mini-Jesus type Camps spread throughout our country.
It's only that it is not that obvious to the general public. There are
untold numbers of our extremely vulnerable and impressionable youth being
brainwashed in so despicable a manner. And who's there to point out that
what they are being force-fed in based upon one lie after another?
You guessed it!
The only solace we atheists can take is that there are so many 'normal'
Christians of good conscience who oppose the rabid fanatics. They readily
recognize that it is child abuse. And they are decent enough Christians to
recognize that the religious right is evil masquerading as 'righteousness'.
Perhaps the can counter the indoctrination being perpetrated by members of
the religious right by using the very same bible to refute their diabolical
teachings. Who knows?
Any way you slice it, the religious right is composed of 'sick' people.
Anyone who could do what is being done to their young is all the proof you
need to see that this is so.

I think a few will come to their senses and become atheists. More of them

see coming out of christer bookstores. Ever notice that? Several times
I've seen some really unhappy people coming out of one of those places.
Maybe it's the prices--or maybe it's just the high cost of being "saved."

These people--the adults, the kids, all of them--sound like all the dukes
and wentzkys and truechristains and georganns and namelesses all rolled
up into a vile package. We see posts from these blank-eyed weirdoes in
this group almost daily. Really sobering to think of how many of those
kids will grow up to be like that.
I know what you mean. It was an hour and a half of child abuse.
That's what happens when adults view children as simply a means to an end.
It's vile and depraved.

The fucked-up thing is, one of the boys (I called him "Rat-tail kid"
because he's got the little micro-mullet that was "in" back in the '80s,
only it wasn't braided) had a big-***** hardback edition of "Lord of the
Rings" on the dining-room table, where he's home-schooled. He apparently
didn't see anything wrong with that--but Harry Potter is evil.

flashlights, telling scary stories, and just being kids. One of the camp
assholes comes shambling in like a zombie Ned Flanders and looks around,
then says something to the effect of, "Your scary stories are ungodly.
You should be praising jeeeebus." Total buzz-kill--and you can see it in
the kids' faces. They go from having a good time to utterly deflated,
unhappy. Like whipped dogs or something.

Is it just me, or do Christians complain, long and loud, about Moslem
kids being raised to die for THEIR god's will? And don't many of
these same Christians claim that their god and Allah are really the
same god?
