Object: Flood Creates White Wash
Just like it's British and American counterparts, an inquiry by former
diplomat Philip Flood into Australian intelligence failures and lies that
lead to the invasion of Iraq has totally white washed the giant pink
elephant in the room and cleared PM Howard of any blame. Howard stands
there like Bart Simpson next to a broken window holding a sling shot and
saying "I didn't do it!" and the official inquiry says "Of course you
didn't...and anyway it was a nasty window anyway and deserved to be
broken"!!

Flood Report vindicates me: PM
Prime Minister John Howard said the Flood Report proved he did not "heavy"
the nation's intelligence agencies and did not take Australia to war against
Iraq based on a lie.
The unclassified version of the top level report, conducted by former
diplomat Philip Flood, was released by Mr Howard in Brisbane.
The prime minister ordered the report in March after a parliamentary
committee recommended an investigation into Australia's spy agencies and
their intelligence leading up to the Iraq war.
Mr Howard said the Flood inquiry was the fourth report in the world - after
the Jull Report, the US Senate Report and the United Kingdom's Butler
Report - which proved allegations of political heavying on intelligence
agencies were wrong.
"Disagree with our decision, say that we were wrong, say that we were
misguided, but don't accuse us of heavying the intelligence agencies," Mr
Howard said.
"This is the fourth report that has given lie to that.
"We did not heavy the intelligence agencies, we never did, we respect their
intelligence.
"I continue, as do my colleagues continue, therefore to reject the
proposition that we took this country to war based on a lie."
Mr Howard said a significant finding of the report was that any suggestion
of political interference by himself or his government was ruled out.
"Very significantly, Mr Flood's report firmly rejected any suggestion of
political interference in the intelligence community," the prime minister
said.
"This is a very important finding because the government and the
intelligence agencies have been subjected to an unrelenting litany of
allegations that we applied pressure to the individual agencies, that we
forced members of agencies to give us the intelligence that we wanted.
"That has always been untrue, it has always been an unfair slur on the
government, and it has also been an unfair slur on the agencies."
Mr Howard said it was important to differentiate between intelligence
assessments and political decisions, saying intelligence was only one factor
in his decision-making process.
He said criticism that Australia's spy agencies had too many civilians and
not enough experienced defence personnel analysing intelligence had "struck
a chord" with him and had been referred to by Mr Flood.
He said the increased funding to the Office of National Assessment, as
recommended by the report, would "certainly boost its role" in government.
A briefing to Opposition leader Mark Latham on the classified components of
the report would be offered.

More like "pigs at the trough", these fuckers will stoop to levels that would
make a rat blush in their effort to line their own pockets, and, lie like all

Scum, the whole fucking lot.

I'm no fan of little Johnny, he's an arrogant, smarmy, little prat, but if
he does retire, we're likely to have Peter "I found God, we should all
return to fundamental Christian values" Costello stepping in to fill the
void. As for the opposition... well, what opposition? :o\
