Moose bites can be painful.

Hitting one with your car is no picnic, either. See:

I think a mouse is a "moose" in parts of Canada.
And a house is a "hoose."
Hence they say..."There's a moose in the hoose let 'im oot."
But "hoosegow" is from a spanish word "juzgado" which means "court"
I believe, but was also used to refer to jail in areas of the early
American west that were Mexican territory.
American settlers pronounced it the way they heard it.
Goose on the other hand is a bird of some sort as well as a thing you
can do to a person with a feather from the bird to make them laugh.
That's all I know about those subjects.

I once knew a guy named Richard K. Cobb but he wasn't from Mexico.
He might have been from Canada though because he put moose in his hair
which made it look funny.
I don't know if the K stood for korn or not but it would spelled wrong

Those that are now in Louisana originally came from Canada, actually a
small island in the St. Lawrence. There and New Brunswick I believe.
There was a study done not too long ago on a group from Canada and a
group from the US to compare specific genetic changes over time in the
two groups. My memory isn't what it used to be so don't take this as
gospel.

Lester Solnin lumbered into the room and mumbled:

Comments, please..ONLY ON THIS SUBJECT.

It's been rather chilly today.

My sister was bit by a moose once.

Yes I have seen moose in the wild, as well as wolves, coyotes, foxes of
many types, deer, antelope, beavers, muskrats, porcupines......
I live on the prairies, in a province named Saskatchewan. The southern
1/3 is very flat with just a few areas of rolling hills, but we have
shallow valleys everywhere. The northern 2/3 is mostly forest and water
(100,000 lakes). Some areas are lush, some areas are very dry, we even
have a desert area and badlands. In the summer the average temperature
is 25C(77F) with highs in the 35C - 40C range with piles of sunshine and
not much rain.
The topography across Canada changes drastically. Nothing is the same.
If you come up just make sure it's in summer and you go as far north as
practical at least once.

You'll be more than welcome. Tourism is a fairly important business here
and most Canucks know it. Besides, we haven't had much of the violence
that makes people cynical.
