"Fred" and fester were RIGHT! |
The DJIA grew over 200% under Clinton, but under
Bush it's already grown something like 20%.
And even if real growth, after inflation, amounts to
squat, it's still difficult to argue with the great
success which is Bush's economic policies....
The huge deficits... their pressure on interest rates...
the inflation they caused... they certainly paid off!
So what if they only benefited the wealthy? The
rest of us indirectly benefited from all that patented
Robust Economic Growth(tm).
Throughout the annals of human history there have
been but two measures of great leadership, and they
are:
#1. Peace
#2. Prosperity
I dare anyone to claim that Bush has failed to deliver
on both...

Absolutely fucking stupid statement.
Ask your average Iraqi about that peacenik bush.
Ask the 20-something thousand seriously wounded young vets we have
now, ask the families of over 3 thousand DEAD American soldiers, for a
fucking war that never should have happened. Bush is a pox on us all,
along with his puppeteers pulling his strings.
Going from the largest surplus in history to the largest deficit in
history, ya real prosperity there dumbass. The shrinking middle class
with jack-***** for medical coverage, and dwindling savings, ask them
how prosperous we are as a whole.
To be far right-winger, you need to be one of two things, very rich,
or a brainwashed athoritarian idiot.
My guess is you are not very rich.

Ask your average Iraqi about that peacenik bush.
I think you failed to notice the sardonic undercurrent in
jtem's postings. There is a venerated species of sarcasm
labeled "damning with faint praise." The quintiessential
example runs something like this:
Q: "Is Tammy's boyfriend handsome?"
A: "Well, he's not *ugly*..."

Point taken, I was dumber than a bag of broken hammers.
The little rant was misdirected, in spirit it was meant to counter
bushco blind supporters. I apologize for shooting at the messenger and
not the message. I'm getting so fed up with this administration and
their Orwellian *****. It is *ugly*

I think I should have read it with my brain in gear, Mr. Clark pointed
that out for me. I scanned it too fast & shot off my big mouth. The
target of my rant is the same target I believe you had.
Unbelievably, bushco will retain something like 22% support no matter
how damaging his actions are, he could lead them into a burning
building telling them it's chilly inside, and they would all shiver as
their parkas burned off their bodies.
Those are are largely the same people that believe in creationism and
many other fantasies, because their athority figures say so. They were
my intended targets. So I stand by what I said, but not how I
delivered it.
They are pretty much impervious to criticism, but it sure makes me
feel better bitching at them.

http://money.cnn.com/2004/01/21/markets/election_demsvreps/
But here's Wall Street's strange little irony -- studies show the
stock market performs better and tends to be less volatile when
Democrats are in power.
This discrepancy was explored recently in a study by two finance
professors at the University of California at Los Angeles, Pedro Santa-
Clara and Rossen Valkanov.

Would have been funny if it wasn't so serious.
