FRED STONE - DUMB AS A FUCKIN' POST |
Fred "I Have No Fuckin' Clue" Stone:
"Oh, I'm sure that Texas voters can figure out all the machinations by
both parties, and the Democrats won't have a chance in hell of taking
the seat [TX-22] from the Republicans."
Of course, here in the real world - as opposed to the fantasy-world
where Fred dwells - the Democrats won DeLay's old seat.
Poor Fred ... hopelessly blinded by his partisan fantasies!

Delay's prospects, however, are dim indeed. He only garnered 55% of
the vote in 2004 - not very impressive for a House Majority Leader.
Given the political damage he's taken since then, the fact that in
2006 he is facing a well-funded former Congressman rather than the
under-funded political nobody he faced in 2004, and the fact that if
he comes crawling back to Texas now after resigning and moving out of
state will probably cost him still more votes, his prospects do not
look particularly bright, though given the nature of TX-22, he could
perhaps win.
Of course, all of this could have been avoided had Delay simply
declined to run in the primary. However, since his ego apparently
demanded that he deny his primary opponent such a victory ("I am Tom
Delay! How *dare* you even think of opposing me in the primary?"),
these tortured machinations came about, and blew up in his face.
Stupidly, Delay has harmed his party's chances of retaining TX-22 in
the fall. I hardly expect his slavish fanboys to ever acknowledge
this, however.
[FRED'S MORONIC CLUELESSNESS]:
