They will stay fresh longer than you have.
Bad eggs should be disposed of as quickly as possible.

Bad eggs should be disposed of as quickly as possible.

Along with rotten vegetables, and other things one traditionally
throws at ... erm ... people who are, ah, bad eggs.
But IIRC, refrigerating eggs, at least in the domestic sense, makes no
difference to their longevity (remember eggs are naturally insulated),
and can have a detrimental effect on their, erm, cookability. Which I
thought was quite interesting[1].
Mind you, if you're storing them at 60 Kelvin, I'd imagine they'd keep
for a fair while (but probably explode), but if at 60 Celsius - well
how long to slow cooked hard boiled eggs last? But if at 60 Fahrenheit
they'll keep as long as any other eggs.
I got some Quail & Duck eggs for Saturnalia. But couldn't find any
Goose eggs. And even Fortnum's had no Platypus eggs. Unimaginative
cheapskates...
That said, I think it probably depends where you buy your eggs. If
from a genuine farm, and they're genuinely freshly laid on the day you
buy them, I'd imagine that they'd last longer than a similarly branded
egg you buy in a chain store with a necessarily longer supply chain.
Tesco eggs are beyond they're best after about 10 - 12 days in my
experience. And the "Best by" date is usually around then.
[1]. Yes, I know. "Sad".

Duck! Eggs!
Whew. Just in time. You missed.

A wild goose chase?

Fortnum's didn't have any platypus eggs because Liz bought the last of their
stock to eat before her broadcast.

That's because they come from battery tescos. Free range tescos lay much
better eggs.
