American senior citizens are having food taken from their mouths. With the
high cost of food, some seniors are eating dog food as a supplement to their
diet. These seniors have to scrimp on essential foods. There are millions of
lower income families that have to reduce food costs by denying themselves
nutritious foods. There are very few options that people have were they
could economize. There are millions of people who sacrifice quality of life
to be able to pay property tax. In the winter of their lives, they cannot
afford themselves to experience much of what they sacrificed for. Those who
had insurance or retirement funds never could have anticipated the high
inflation that we have. After working, many years to accumulate money to
spend on their retirement years many have found their money does not go as
far as they thought.

The case I want to make is we seniors are required to make up the deficit of
property taxes that churches do not pay. Even when it is a financial burden
for many to pay, their own property tax seniors are forced to pay the
property for others. People who derive benefits from their religious
institutions should be the ones who support their churches they would be
paying out of choice. Atheist seniors do not have that choice; seniors are
forced to pay their money to subsidize religious intuitions that we do not
subscribe to, nor do we benefit from, nor do we have use for. We senior
atheists are forced to sacrifice what little security we have in our old age
for others. Telling us that we have to sacrifice ourselves for others is
immoral.

Why should we atheists and other seniors be forced to pay property tax for
religious institutions whose annual income are measured in the hundreds of
millions and who possesses assets worth billions of dollars while we seniors
struggle to survive. This is also true of faith based programs were my tax
dollars are going to the every same wealthy institutions. I am certain that
some of the millions of dollars will wind up in the pockets

of care takers of faith based programs. A feeding trough for clerics. If
religious institutions paid their own property tax, we would have billions
of dollars in surplus, and the state would not have to put seniors at risk.

I have a theory as to why our ancestors passed into law that citizens pay
church property tax. As an insurance policy for their passage through those
pearly gates in heaven. In addition, we as atheists have to pay for their
transportation.
