Frist supports funding for stem cell study
Bill Frist, the Senate majority leader and a likely 2008 presidential
candidate, on Friday broke sharply with President George W. Bush and
called for an expansion of federal funding for embryonic stem cell
research.
The move by Mr Frist, a heart and lung transplant surgeon, drew an
angry reaction from social conservatives, a key voting bloc in
Republican primaries.
"I think a candidate that believes in the destruction of life ... and
making a choice between one life over another and creating commodities
out of embryos would have a very hard time appealing to the vast
majority of the Republicans in this party," said Tom DeLay, majority
leader in the House of Representatives.

Can you say "conflict of interest'?

Frist supports funding for stem cell study
Something I've been curious about, and anyone who knows is welcome to
answer.
How many stem cells can they extract from an embryo?
What is the life span of a stem cell?
How many experiments do they need to do before they reach a conclusion?
BAM

Does it surprise you that a member of the AMA would be for more tax dollars
going to his cronies?

It certainly surprises you and J Young that some people find God's
reward so meager and pathetic, it isn't worth the endless efforts to please
Him...the ones in which your engage your entire existences.

Frist supports funding for stem cell study
No, it is much simpler. The pharmaceutical industry is going to benefit
from this research. And even religious right cannot beat big business.
