5. The Party Thread and aa Party Thread are for discussion
of any topic that is off-topic for this newsgroup. These
threads may also have OT (off-topic) at the beginning of
the subject line. These threads can be funny or serious.
The Party Thread started with a discussion of a virtual
party six or seven years ago and is only found in alt.atheism.


6. Cross-posting to more than five newsgroups at any one
time is very poor nettiquette and extremely rude. Trolls
are known for posting to many non-related newsgroups at
one time in attempts to start flame wars (wars btween
newsgroups).


7. The alt.atheism atheist/agnostic list is a list of
atheists/agnostics from anywhere on the Internet. As
long as you are an atheist/agnostic who is involved
in any aspect of the Internet (newsgroups, WWW, lists,
chats, etc.) you are welcome to join and let the rest of
the world know that there are a lot more of us than they
may think. Stand up and be counted! The current count
is 2278!

9. This forum is not a conversation with a few at a party,
but a free for all among hundreds of people with a wide
range of interests and attitudes. So, don't feel compelled
to respond to every message. Pick a few representative
or unique messages that look like they might lead to
interesting conversatons and try to stay focused, at least
until you get a sense of some of the responses and they you.
Keep your sense of humor and don't take any of this too
personally. You may be here to learn, to teach or simply
to enjoy yourself, so don't be shy.

Meanwhile, back here in reality, those who understand that this is
both an unmoderated group and an "alt" group will know that it is,
and can never be anything else but, a free-for-all. Nobody has
the authority to dictate rules here.
