Object: George Bush to be the Villain In the new Batman movie?
There seem to be increasing rumors that George Bush has signed on to
reprise the role of Two-Face in the new Batman movie after his amazing
about-turn relating to two democracy issues reported on the same day!
http://www.cnn.com/2005/ALLPOLITICS/03/08/bush.mideast/index.html
On March 8th, CNN reported that Bush trumpeted: "The trumpet of freedom
has been sounded, and that trumpet never calls defeat." He also said,
"We are confident that the desire for freedom, even when repressed for
generations, is present in every human heart, and that desire can
emerge with sudden power to change the course of history."
But then China passed a law authorizing itself to use military force to
prevent Taiwan from formally declaring its independence and Bush tucked
his tail between his legs and looked the other way! He didn't even
have the guts to say the words himself, so some lackey had to mumble
"we would consider passage of this law unhelpful."
Is this the same engorged mush who told us that he would stand by any
nation who wanted to stand up for democracy?
I guess we know what he's made of now. He can enforce "democracy" in
Iraq, because they can't fight him, but he's scared of China, so they
can pretty much do whatever they like. It turns out our president is
just a school bully, not even fit for a role as a villain in a Batman
movie. No surprises there.

I don't think this will mean much. Its probably another thing to rouse
Chinese out of the apathy they have against the system.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/03/20050308-15.html#8
Q China has passed a law, sort of cocked the trigger on the gun pointed
at Taiwan. If Taiwan declares its freedom, then China will invade.
What's the reaction to that?
MR. McCLELLAN: I'll react -- you're talking about the draft anti-
secession law that was outlined today. We view it as unhelpful and
something that runs counter to recent trends toward a warming in cross-
strait relations. We would call on Beijing to reconsider passage of the
law. The draft law that was presented allows for punitive measures
directed at Taiwan. We oppose any attempts to determine the future of
Taiwan by anything other than peaceful means, and our views are very
well known, in terms of our continued commitment to a one China policy
that upholds the three communiques and does not support Taiwan
independence. We oppose any attempts to unilaterally change the status
quo, and that is our view.
....
Q Scott, would people in Taiwan who are for independence be fair in
regarding President Bush's policies on freedom as hypocritical, because
he doesn't support Taiwan's independence?
MR. McCLELLAN: We've always been supportive of what I spelled out, and
that's -- that the Taiwan Relations Act -- that's any effort to
determine the future of Taiwan by anything other than peaceful means. We
believe that there ought to be cross-strait dialogue. There has been
some helpful dialogue in recent times. That's why I pointed out that
what was drafted -- this law that was drafted and presented runs counter
to that. We continue to encourage cross-strait dialogue, but we've been
supportive of the people in the region and we'll continue to be.
....
Q One more on Taiwan. When you were calling on the Chinese to be
restrained on their actions, would you also state clearly that you do or
do not support Taiwan to declare independence, though?
MR. McCLELLAN: That's why I said that we -- what we support is no
unilateral change in the status quo. That's what our view is, and that
remains our view.

Nice strawman you got there.

Once again, Fred, you are carefully avoiding dealing with the actual
issue: that George Bush blundered blindly into Iraq because he knew he
could beat the Iraqi army and the Iraqis have oil. He dare not stand
up to the Chinese, he cannot bully them, and Taiwan has no oil. Taiwan
is going to be thrown to the dogs. The strawman, Fred, is Bush's
***** about being a champion of democracy.

They can't bully us either. Taiwan is a very important part of the
global economy, regardless of how much oil they have. Don't you get
tired of repeating the same old propaganda? Why don't you at least
update your tiresome bleating to take account of current events?

Taiwan is going to be thrown to the dogs.

Not according to Bush's very own press secretary. "No unilateral
decisions".

The strawman, Fred, is
Bush's ***** about being a champion of democracy.

You stick with that lefty crapola, even in the face of the evidence in
Iraq and Afghanistan? Gee, Budikka, you do so well at badgering Duke,

I guess we know what he's made of now. He can enforce "democracy" in
Iraq, because they can't fight him, but he's scared of China, so they
can pretty much do whatever they like. It turns out our president is
