Glacier National Park... Running Out of Glaciers |
Nope, no global warming at all.
http://thinkprogress.org/2007/10/11/glaciers-disappearing-from-glacier-park/
The last official count in 1998 pegged the number of glaciers here at
27, down from 150 a century ago.

I heard that 1850 was near the end of the Little Ice Age.

That's true. Thank the gods for the industrial revolution or we'd still be
freezing our asses off.

About the time the industrial revolution got going in a big way.
No connection, though.

Too bad little Ice Age is not a global event
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_ice_age
The Siple Dome (SD) has a climate event with an onset time that is
coincident with that of the LIA in the North Atlantic based on a
correlation with the GISP2 record. This event is the most dramatic
climate event seen in the SD Holocene glaciochemical record [13]. The
Siple Dome ice core also contained its highest rate of melt layers (up
to 8%) between 1550 and 1700, most likely due to warm summers during
the LIA. [14]
