The Guardian
Burton Kephart asks me for 10 minutes to see if he can save my soul.
Opening his Bible to Matthew and Romans he tells me that I was born a
sinner, God gave his only son for my sins and if I accepted Jesus into
my heart I could be saved.

If Kerry wins, it will be amusing to hear the excuses and the ways in
which a Bush defeat will fit into "God's will and plan." The
anticipation is killing me! Will the general Christian mood lean
towards "unforeseen version of God's plan" or "God's punishing us for
our godless and wicked nation"? The latter being closely associated
with "not enough of us believe" and "we aren't spreading the gospil
fast enough!"
Then there's the "Satan is currently winning the war, but it's only
temporary" excuse. <puke>

'Realism is seductive because once you have accepted the reasonable
notion that you should base your actions on reality, you are too often
led to accept, without much questioning, someone else's version of what
that reality is. It is a crucial act of independent thinking to be
skeptical of someone else's description of reality.'-
