God is a composite being |
God, the anthropomorphic God - the "Supreme Being" in human form, seems to me to
be a kind of composite of the personalities of early "powerful and prominent"
individuals.
The idea that this God created the universe is a delusion.
The word "universe" is a metaphor.
People who don't suss the metaphor and believe that God actually did create the
material world are running in a totally different direction to people who understand the
metaphor.
So what is the metaphorical meaning of "universe"?
And is there some strange "intelligence" residing in our collective pasts that could be
called a "supreme being"?
And can this "intelligence" direct the lives of "chosen" individuals (Newton, for
instance) and set them in opposition to those who do not see the metaphor?
Did this "supreme being" (a kind of anthropomorphic entity no longer having need for a
physical body) bring about the recent rapid changes in the mental activities of
mankind?
There is another way of looking at things.
The "supreme being" actually inhabits the future.
Rather than pushing us to engage in all this activity he directs things from afar.
The God who is sitting up there in the distant future is a very different God to the one
who resides in the past - and can creep up on us.
Chemicals, when combined, react and together and produce something different.
"Chemicals" is to be understood as a metaphor.
God is mixing the chemicals ... and he ain't doing it from the past.
Neither is he here now.
Have you listened to Joss Stone's voice - focussed your mind totally on every sound
she makes?
Most extraordinary!
Is Joss Stone a "Goddess"?

On 07 Oct 2004, Newton's Cat dropped trou, farted, whirled, then shouted:
The idea that this God created the universe is a delusion.
So get over it and move on.
