My Letter to Viacom and Vivendi About the United Church of Christ's "God is
Still" Speaking Advertising Campaign

Sirs and Madams:
You have made a very wise decision by refusing to air the United Church of
Christ advertisement.
The words, "liberty", "freedom", "equality", and "free speech" are no
longer of
any importance in the United States. It is far more important to avoid
offending
the "Executive Branch".
There was a time when I would have asked if you were Bigots or Hypocritical
Cowards. But, these days, we all understand that you must bow down to
George W.
Bush and advance his political agenda. To do otherwise would be a very
stupid
mistake, indeed. This is not a time for courage. This is a time for all of
us to
conform to the behavioral norms of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and their
evangelical brethren. They won the election and now all of us must obey
them.
Do not be surprised if liberals and progressives in the United States and
the
rest of the world rise up against you. They are a truly sad lot who don't
understand we have no choice in these matters and our only option is to
obey
George W. Bush.
You should put all fears that the United States is starting to resemble
Nazi
Germany out of your mind. It would be disloyal to think such a thing.
Resistance
is futile and dangerous. Just remember how many members of the French
Resistance
in World War II died for the foolish idea that they could fight the
inevitable
advance of moral and racial purification.

cause
any further harm to Mr. Bush or to his program of moral purification:

It is truly pitiful that these Radio Left people actually believe they can
oppose the united advance of the neo-conservatives and the evangelicals.
They
refer to our new masters as "theo-fascists" which, even though accurate, is
not
a smart thing to say. Facts and science are no longer relevant in this new
age
of allegiance to belief and ideology.
Just to show you how subversive these people are, they actually have the

States or
about world opinion. You have sided with power and that is all that counts
in
George W. Bush' America. You will be rewarded for protecting us from the
evils
of diversity and inclusivity. We will all be happier if we keep hellfire
and
retribution foremost in our minds and forget the outmoded "liberal"
concepts of
Christian love and charity.
