One day Moses was chatting with the LORD, "And the LORD spake unto
Moses face to face as a man speaketh unto his friend...And Moses said
unto the LORD...I beseech thee, shew me thy glory...And the LORD
said...while my glory passeth by, I will put thee in the cleft of the
rock, and I will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will
take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face
shall not be seen," Exodus 33:11-23.
As I see it, this story clearly shows that God mooned Moses!
The hymns "Rock of Ages Cleft For Me," and "He hideth My Soul" were
written with this passage in mind. From now on, everytime you hear
these hymns remember this story and grin.
