Well this trial is in Texas, so even though Texans almost never find
anyone innocent by reason of insanity, look for this religious whackjob
to get the insanity verdict. Just about the only way to get found not
guilty by reason of insanity in the south, is to say "it was gods will".

MCKINNEY - The day little Maggie Schlosser was killed, her mother saw a
TV report of a lion that injured a boy.
She thought it was the biblical end of days and that God commanded her
to cut off her daughter's arms, as well as her own arms, legs and head,
a psychiatrist testified Monday.
David Self was the second psychiatrist to testify that Dena Schlosser
didn't know right from wrong when she severed her daughter's arms at the
shoulders, killing her.
"This is a bizarre assault," Dr. Self said. "This is not the way people
kill people ..." when their intent is to kill.
After she was jailed, she did not understand why she was behind bars if
she was following what God told her to do, Dr. Self said.

I've often wondered why there isn't a verdict called, "guilty by reason
of insanity". A murderer can be freed if he's later found to be no
longer insane by today's system.
Yes. There was a case in Connecticut in the 80's where a man, a former
police officer I believe, murdered his wife, was found not guilty by
reason of insanity, and was later freed because he was judged to be no
longer dangerous. He found another woman who was willing to marry him,
despite the pleas of her children. He murdered her as well. His
defense attorney claimed that because he had a history of mental
illness, he couldn't be convicted of muder, so a plea bargain was
arranged to send him to prison for a lesser charge rather than a mental
institution, where "mental health professionals" might free him again.
I think it was in Stratford, CT.
Shouldn't a dangerous criminal be incarcerated for the rest of his/her
life or executed to punish them for their crimes or to protect innocent
people?
Does this make sense to anyone else?

I forgot to add : Does believing in an imaginary being absolve you of
responsibilty for committing a monstrous crime?
I'd like an explanation from any religionist.

It workes for Abraham. Maybe these people in particular get off on
insanity because people find that form of delusion particularly
endearing...

OK, I can see right now that she was going to be disobeying her god, there is
no way that she was going to be able to follow through on that "her own arms
.... and head" bit. Reminds me of the guy that tried to nail himself to a
cross, he found he needed another arm that he didn't have.

As Islam teaches that its followers practice deception and duplicity
against infidels, (all non-Muslims are infidels), in order to kill or
convert them to Islam, then Islam must be correct.
After all, Mohammad was the (self-declared) Final Prophet, (there would
be no prophets after him), who rectified the prophecies of the "people
of the book".
It must be true, because they believe in a god, but I don't.

Not necessarily...Andrea Kennedy (Yates) is doing time at Rusk, up in Cherokee
County, where the criminally insane are sent.
